Alright my diy T3 on my 1.8 is almost ready to be put on the car. I am juet trying to get som eopinions on what BOV you guys are using. Ill be using the stock AFM so I dont want one that will leak at idle or if is does i will need to but a one way valve so it won't leak. Anything out there for les that $100, im willing to spend money for a better product but it i dont have to that would be cool too.

The bosch-style valve is quite popular, Bell sells one for $55.

Dude, take a closer look at all of those bypass valves: none of them need flanges.

Yes. They are the epitome of the "HEY LOOK AT ME" blow off valve. The high pitch chirp is aweful. If you must vent to atmosphere I would suggest a Tial. It sounds kind of like a whip and is not overly loud. Its also built like a tank.

No flange as such, but you'll need to fit a nipple into your I/C piping somewhere. I picked up a piece of 1.5" steel exhaust pipe, cut it in half with a 2.5" hole saw (to get the shape of the end correct) and then mig-welded it to the pipe in my system which feeds the intake manifold, after drilling a 1.25" hole in it.

Different BOVs, different sizes. In my case, I'm using an old-style FM BOV (Deal of the Day) which has a 1.375" inlet and outlet. I spent a whole afternoon riding around Vista / San Marcos carrying my BOV into every speed shop and industrial hose supplier I could find (more than a dozen in total) and nobody had that size. In the end, I found that 1.5" silicone will compress down far enough to seal on the 1.375" BOV, so I went with that.

The Bosch-style valves, IIRC, use a 1" flange so that's an easy one. Also, the JGS attachment comes with a reducer, so you should have no problems going with this setup.

I feel like I'm repeating myself, as this thread seems to pop up alot. I have tested both the Porsche BOV (Bosch) and the Ebay "special" bov (turbo xs-H knock off) and I have found that both work awesome and run about 22 shipped. Depends on the sound you like.

The bosch is 1" with a 1/16" lip. I thought it sounded great VTA, but you really should run a filter on it since it's not designed for VTA and that will kill some - most of the sound, depending on the filter.
