Garrett turbos are fine, but Soviet's EFR plot is ridiculous good. Trust me when I say that I'm as annoyed as anyone about the delays, but when the EFR faucet starts flowing everyone who was smart/patient enough to wait will laugh about it while making unbeatable low-end torque and big high-end power at the same time.

something about the blind loyalty y'all have to a company that cares so very little about you makes me lol so fucking hard.

last I checked even eBay vendors of Chinese turbos sent out replacements within hours of receiving a complaint due to a defective unit. yet a publicly traded company could give a shit about you.

If I read this a week ago, I'd say "what issue?". That's what bothers me.

it would seem their point of view on the entire situation is there is no issue with the units until one arises. this is bad business and no amount of dyno charts could convince me otherwise.

I wonder wtf happened to testing turbo's for longer than 1 dyno pull before selling hundreds of units.

That statement should go something like this:
"yes, we know about the issue that we let you discover, and we will gladly replace your turbo free of charge with a unit that has been upgraded in this area but we still don't care enough to test it and make sure it wont fail too,as soon as we can so go ahead and just park your car for a year and we'll let you know when we're ready with that replacement."

Did BW or FR say they'd replace the turbo? Has either company given him a timeframe?

I suspect a materials problem during production, not a design problem. Someone could have spilled their coffee in a smelter.

yet common sense would dictate that you test at least one production model.

That's what I was getting at: do they not test the actual product?
If they don't, that "Made in America" stamp can lick my *****.

He was still within his 1 year warranty period. I wonder what they will do after that period.

Just cause they give you an RMA doesn't mean they won't also give you an invoice with digits in the Balance Due box. I doubt this will happen though, seems like it's being handled decently.

Warranty on 'em if you are not the original purchaser? What happens if the other EFR you are getting off this site (yank?) breaks, or if I buy a turbo from *BW dealer*, add it to a box that contains a manifold & downpipe, then sell it to you, and you break it?

Warranty period is 18 month from purchase -or- 1 year from installation date.

I can deal with this.

thanks for the info on the design change.
I can pick up another cheap charger in the mean time that doesn't require me to make a ton of changes to my setup. At the worst i could make an adapter and pipe my manifold down the down pipe. Id have to tune for NA but at least the car would be on the road.

The delays are clearly caused by insufficient availability of unicorn horn.

Covered. At least by Full-Race. They are nice guys, they are just being quiet about this and not proactive. I can understand though - they have manifolds and kits sitting on shelf for these and no turbos.

Basically, everyone gets screwed

Does the 18-month warranty start when you get a turbo or do they wait 17-months after purchase to ship it? Serious question.
