Engine problem/questions
Alright I had a bit of a problem today coming home from work. Cruising my temps seemed fine, 180-200*F according to my gauge. But once I came to a stopped idle my temps rose to nearly 250*F. Temps were over 100* today in Texas so I knew it may have gotten hotter but not that hot. Strange thing is at this 250* my fan doesn't kick on.
I am going to double check my sensor for when the fan should kick on but I think I have a few problems I need to figure out. I first need to check my mechanical gauge. I had just swapped out my new gauge last night, temps seemed great cruising to work this morning when it was 80* outside but I think this is my first step. Second I need to check the connection to my fan switch.
Could this be signs of a blown head gasket? I have a burped cooling system and I have no signs of water in the oil. (I know a head gasket can be blown in 3 ways)
Specs:
52mm GodSpeed Rad
Revlimiter's coolant reroute
90/10% water/coolant mixture.

Car has never over heated, I am running without a thermostat.
What is a "normal" idle temperature?
I swapped out gauges back to my good ole AutoMeter, it idles 200-210, when it hits 210 the fan kicks on and cools it off down to 200 again. Testing my new gauge now with boiling water
