Valid 1.6 throttle body for 1.8?
#4
Hi!! thanks aidan and braineack for the quick response!!!
I have an MS specially designed for my VVT engine just coming to my house.
With it, is not necesary a second throtle??
I mean, for been stable at low rpm,i read that was necesary because it was unable to mantain stable with only one, for example stopped at a traffic light in red.
Kind regards

The early NA TB is choice for the intake side TB in the DTB setup if you can swing it. The throttle wheel has 2 cable channels. I imagine there could be some serious brain damage WRT the IAC. Might not be worth it.
EDIT: the MS can be tuned to improve a hotside SC's idle performance, but it will not get you to where a DTB setup will take you.

dear ted,
thanks for your reply, as i read in many places, and my friend Sanson has in his NA, a DTB is the best optiom for a fine response in the whole range of rpm. Thats why ask if I can combine My NB2 vvt engine intake sistem with my actual TB in it original position, and finish the tuning with the NA throtle body as the socond one, both of them conected one to the other by a wire that could be a bicycle brake wire.
Wich will be the best place for positionning the NA TB??
Where could I obtain a non-agressive map for my MS, only for been able to drive to the tuner studio where they set up the MS with a "power bank", can you tell me the correct word in english for that place? This place inside a garage with two rolls for our rear wheels( in our case) and a computer where you can see the engine curves???
Thanks!!

The NA TB should be located on the intake manifold side. FlyinMiata sells an adapter that allows you to mount a 1.6 TB to a 1.8 IM.
