Gesso's NBLSFuckery
Drivers side head to firewall clearance.
I think this means I put my engine mount adapter plates on backwards. Can anyone who's done this confirm this for me. I'm piecing the kit together and don't have any instructions beyond FM's build blog to check against.
I'd post this at v8miata.net but it's basically a ghost town over there. Tourist show up, look around, and never return. Occasionally kids come by and vandalize the place (spambots). At least here there's a population that keeps things "civilized".

Are these the instructions you are looking for?

No mention of the fact that the mount adapter plates can be installed in multiple orientations :(
Given Orion's measurements I have to assume they're on backwards. Not the end of the world as I have to pull the motor at least one more time anyways.

Actually this tread gives me a sad I have three ecu's for the motor but I can't prove that any of them are the original ecu (The one I think is original is busted), which means I probably can't make it legal in CA which was the whole point originally (I've already handled the mods to use the factory manifolds and cats).
I've got a few paths forward from here and none of them are super attractive (thus why I spend my time working on the exofish):
- Give up on carb legal status and make it a track only car (but then I need a truck and a trailer and should sell the exofish and really I would just go S2 or S3 if I was gonna do a track only car)
- Give up on the car but finish it and sell it out of state
- Give up on the car and just sell it as it
- Give up on the car, part out the LS stuff and the 8.8 rear end/subframe/axles (likely the most money this way)
- Convert the car back to "stock" every 2 years
- Register the car out of state (This is more hassle than I really want)
