How much would you pay for this car?
"Montego Blue, 1.8 L, 5-speed. 147K miles. (Hard-to-find hardtop, adds $900 to the value of this car!) Cold A/C, Pioneer stereo with removable faceplate and CD player. Tires in great shape. Back window is clear and intact. New radiator and windshield in last year. Recent oil change. Boot cover for convertible top. Boss Frog Double Hoop real roll bar (doesn't block rear vision.) Trailer hitch and wiring for small trailer. Adult driven daily driver. Have two Miatas...wife says one has to go. (Hope she doesn't read this.) Has wing mounted on trunk lid, still have original truck lid with luggage rack. Bad Boy compact air horn to get you noticed. Runs like a top! Great, dependable transportation. Really hate to get rid of it, but don't need 3 cars for the wife and I."
The clearcoat is coming off, the second trunk lid has a dent and some scrapes, pinstripes were taken off with a razor, has a FM butterfly brace, all metal radiator, doesn't know if it's a torsen, but feels like LSD. Hardtop is a repainted one and you can see the lines of red around the windows, but otherwise it's good. Belt squeaked on startup, but other than that it ran great. No noticeable oil leaks or anything like that.
He's asking $4000, but I feel like that's pretty high, so I'm wondering what everyone else thinks. I wrecked my car and will post all the parts I don't need in the for sale later, but I need a new one first. Nothing really broke, but the chassis is gone.

That's what I was thinking, too. Not sure about the timing belt, but it was raced on a track a couple times. He doesn't know if it's a torsen, but my butt says some kind of LSD.
I'm looking at a '94 M today, too. Brand new paint from a decent place which is more what I need. I'll be swapping my built 1.6 in anyway with MS2 and all that. He's asking way too much, but I'm sure I can talk him down. KBB is like $2500 for what he's offering and he posted $3400.

If you are just swapping in your drivetrain try and find a cleaner car with engine problems for cheap. Or just a cleaner car in general, $4k should buy you a car with clean body and decent paint if you shop around.
