Guys... there is always someone faster. To put down ANY other group is IGNORANT.

Especially honda
The first race I got in my old SC'd S2000 was against a diesel truck and we ran dead even from 60-140 There are definitely some quick trucks out there, much quicker than the one I ran into, but the vast majority of the "fast", "I got a hemi", trucks out there have nothing on a 170whp miata.

I definitely wasn't talking about the people who say their trucks are fast... but the actually fast ones.

A 170whp miata is not fast in my book. I'm running 230+ and do not consider myself fast.

Agree all around. "Fast" is very relative.

there is a decrease in power towards redline, but to say that it "falls on its face"?
Maybe I'm just use to teh vtak, but I feel like my '99 miata falls on it's face up top. That WRX... definitely falls on it's face, IMO.

The only thing done to the girls WRX is a 3" catback that the guy she bought it from put on it.

It honestly feels like it has no power up there, down low it has tons of power, but yeah it definitely falls on it's face. Seeing that map explains a lot.
It could use a better tune for sure.

A tune alone will improve her powerband significantly. A downpipe+ stage 2 tune will make the car a whole different animal

How is a truck even stable at 140? And let's not even get into S2k motor swaps, or else we could be here all day with LSx, 2jz, blah blah blah....

My last project was a Ford Lightning and it was much more stable at 120+ than my Miata is.

My buddy has a lightning that will put most street bikes to shame. On a road course. They are crazy fast and seem to defy the laws of physics with the amount of lateral grip they can have for what they weigh when the suspension is done right. Oh, and forget 140, at 165 they are still solid stable.

When you loose that much tq that quickly, i bet it feels like it falls flat on it's face.

I was referring to tall, heavy diesel trucks. And I would hardly call a Lightning a truck. My Jeep is rated to pull just as much for crying out loud.
