The HTC One I get to borrow is a google play edition, score!

Patiently waiting for Lollipop, curious as to how long it's gonna take...

so I ordered a 64 gb Droid Trubo (because Trubo) on Friday because it was cheap. And I really didn't want a 6 inch phablet again, even if nexus. Anyway, I can send verizon my old and not busted OG Droid Incredible and they'll give me $100 for it. That makes the Trubo $50.

Now today Motorola is doing a deal on the Moto X. A penny on verizon (or $50 for the 32gb on contract) orrrrr $140 off the full price--so $360. I also have a coupon for the educational discount ($50) but it may not stack. If it does, that's $310 for a $500 phone and I might just buy one to flip or something.

If the X was available on Sprint, I'd totally just buy one and move to Ting and be done with it.

But if you were on verizon, which would you do?

a) Droid Turbo 64 gb for $50
b) Moto X 32 gb for $50
c) Moto X 16/32 gb for $310/360 (or $360/410 if not stackable) (note that this is pointless if it's not a use anywhere phone)

d) something else. my contract is up as of last week so in theory, I can go anywherez.

There are also options like moto x on page plus ($360 and 40 or 55/month.. which is cheap)

I would do a Droid Turbo > all if you only need a phone. The battery life and its guts are as close to a Nexus 6 as you can get (e.g. bleeding edge) and will stay relevant for a long time. The X is great if you are looking for mid-high tier phone that you can order in football leather exterior.

The only other consideration would be an LG G3 for $50 if you REALLY want a tablet and don't have one. Verizon is currently giving away a free G Pad 8.3 (which runs Android L) with purchase of 50 dollar G3. Though if you've got coin - having owned two Nexus 7's and a Nexus 9, I highly recommend the Nex 9 tablet.

My Note 4 is getting replaced by Sprint tomorrow. Whenever I was scrolling/dragging/typing, the phone would freeze occasionally for 1 second, and then mash all the commands I had entered in at once. While one second doesn't sound terrible, it is REALLY frustrating when scrolling or swiping through pages. Especially when I am used to the buttery smoothness of my S4 running 4.4 SlimRom AOSP.

I tried factory resetting it, flashing stock firmware through Odin and Kies, but nothing fixed it. So I brought it into the Sprint store and the tech said I was the 3rd person hes seen with the issue(and I'm in Southern Utah((not a big town))). I guess it is a motherboard defect that has been presenting itself on the earliest batch of N4s, and seeing as I got mine the day before release, that may have been mine.

So glad it wasn't software related. Although you can fix most of it with Nova Launcher/Google keyboard/Xposed, I never have enjoyed Touchwiz much. After using the store demo model, it was light years smoother than my current phone. Glad I'm not stuck with a $700+ POS. If my replacement phone is as smooth as the store model, I won't have anymore complaints.

This is why you add the $10 insurance to your phone as well. Sprint will replace your phone no questions asked twice($75 after) if you are having problems with it. Very lucky since I paid out of contract for it.

So I've had my Nexus 6 for 2 weeks and love it. I was worried about hardware quality since I guess motorola has been a little spotty lately with their products. But I've got a moto 360 and the nexus 6 and am in love. The only downside so far to the 6 is I wish I still had silent mode and not that "priority" mode for notifications. But that's really a complaint with lolipop and not the nexus 6 par-say.
