Vettes suffer for the same effect effect that Hondas have, but from the opposite end of the spectrum. Its like how life under Stalin was in many ways like life under Hitler. Complete opposites, same effect.

Vettes tend to be bought by old people who want something fast, have a decent amount of cash, and are often ignorant as hell when it comes to cars.

Hondas tend to be bought by young people who want something fast, have no cash, and are often ignorant as hell when it comes to cars.

In the end both end up being wasted potential by our standards. Sad.

C5s with some proper damping and tires are pretty sweet. Freind of mine has a C5Z and it's pretty planted in the corners in stockish form, even on crappy surface.

Where else do you get a rear mounted transaxle setup, a pretty advanced chassis, and an engine capable of relaible 500+ WHP NA for under 50K?

I had the please of running an "Apex" school day with a school of vettes...like 25 of them I think. There was one faster car on the track that day and it was a C6Z driven by a driving god who can impregnate women with eye contact.

I think I remember going 3-wide around a v8r x7 and a c6z at MSR on the last miata challenge event. I'm fairly certain that everyone involved was thoroughly confused.

More than one camshaft in an LS1/6? Let me know how that works out.

I highly doubt it was the same C5.
Your dad owns one and you own one.

My neighbor's coworker had his C6 Z06 over yesterday. It's got a cam package and upgraded valvetrain. Making a clacking sound so we pulled the pax valve cover. Broken Comp Cam valve spring. Could have been a price dropped valve but luckily it appears there's no damage.

The C6Z is surprisingly small and I liked the interior. Of course for that coin you could get a C6 and with a few mods, have it best a C6Z for a lot less.

there is one particular c5z driver down here that can be a real *****. everyone that has had the displeasure of meeting him at a trackday wether it was during tech, or as an instructor feels the same way.

well, i finally had a chance to run with him in the same group at a h2r trackday and after riding his *** for 2-3 laps (without him getting a passing flag!) he finally gave me the pissed off point by. he was literally stabbing the air with his finger! lol, it was awesome. once by, he found that he couldn't hang with me in my little red chick car. afterwards, he was talking to another vette guy and said "that little car's pretty quick" which i'm sure was hard for him to do, what's better is the other vette guy said "oh, really? what car are you in?" that red miata over there, "oh....wow"

So you're the 22 year old resident LSX expert? Just because your parents have a couple 'vettes in the garage with minor bolt-ons does not make you one. Dry sump and lighter chassis make no difference on the street. You'll only discern those difference in testing on a tarmac or in an all out race setting.

Oh, we were talking street setups? I was referring to track use. Your argument is stupid anyway, the $50k you'd spend on an LS3 C6 could be spent making a retardedly fast FRC. Oh wait, the $50k you spent on that FRC? Think about the 5.0 you could make!!

Also, I highly doubt you're qualified to comment on me or what I own and don't own. Never assume.
