A turbo C4 is something I could rock. My buddy used to have a 4+3 and I was sad when he sold it. Used to be a blast to drive, it wasn't horrible fast but there was just something badass about it.

I'll take a C4 with a snowmobile engine any day. Get my Chaparral 2J on.

There's a reason Callaway hates us when we venture up to Stillwater, OK.
Turbo is not necessarily the way to go when dealing with the Vettes.
7.5 seconds 1/8th miles and 18" wide stripes the whole way is badass either way though.

+1

18" stripes laid by anything for an 1/8th mile is ill.

All these vette stories - I'm getting excited about my Turbo build!! I've never owned a sub 8 second 0-60 car before. (my YZ450F dirt bike does it under 5 but that doesn't count)

I've never even been in a turbo or SC Miata but all this talk is making me salivate. I'm living it through these posts and it's great.

I've driven myself and been a passenger in a few fast cars: Boxster-S, Elise and then Supercharged Elise, 500 crank HP EvoMR, Viper GTS and now the ACR.
This thread is making me glad I bit the bullet and hit "Pay Now" when I was debating on a turbo kit in the last days before buying it. (little did I know there was boost & AFR gauges, pods, seals, 3" exhaust, drivetrain mounts, clutch, wheels, tires, suspension to go along with it) $$$$

I can usually out corner most street people, but now when I blow by new minivans and pickups, all luxury class cars and of course C5's I will be grinning from ear to ear.

Thanks for building up the suspense !!! Lets hope it comes to fruition in a few months.

ps - keep the stories of cars you can now beat going - its great !

one of my best friends has a c5z, it's amazing how much better at speed it is than the miata. fairly even to 80, then i start lagging slowly, then at 120 i'm left behind

ha - I looked at an M3 2nd gen before my Miata but no matter how fast it went it still wouldn't have the nimble feeling of our cars.

1987 16V GTi, It had 375,000kms on it (before I sold it) and daily i had it to over 6K rpm. It was an 8.xx 0-60 car. I finally can afford to have a sports car so that is why it took so long. Our minivan is a 9.xx runner.

From all accounts on the diff. forums an NB with 220whp is a low 5 sec car and a high 13's ???

The E36 is probably the only M3 with any real appeal, at least to me. I really dislike the E46 and the new one? Ughh.

I usually get out of the really well but keeping it all the way to the first corner is tough (motocross)

True, and tires you are running, road surface and temp etc.

I like the rolling start numbers, slower but more conducive to what you would be doing in traffic.

I wouldnt refuse any of them, but I hear you on the E46. The styling is just too vanilla and bulbous. I really like the E36 and also the E30. The E30 has that sort of understated no-frills non-poseur capable look, plus from what I hear its a FUN car to drive. But I love the new ones save for the weight. I like the styling, that V8 is awesome. At some point in my life I need to own a car that redlines at 8400 and makes power from there on down to like 3000. Just the thought of being able to stay in 1st, 2nd, and 3rd that long even with an aggressive gear is cool.

Vorshlag E36 car = What I wuld have if I was not poor.

http://www.vorshlag.smugmug.com/

But I am, so here I am with all you loosers. And on top of that, I cant even talk because I dont even have the damned car yet.

That C-4 made 750 whp @5000 rpm before the LT-1 edit software could not support it. He is currently building a trigger wheel and installing a MS on it. Should be running in a few weeks.

Thing runs a 5" downpipe, its a sick build.
