Hey bros, how strict are the SOHC ej253 timing belt service intervals?
Might be picking up a 2007 2.5i wagon next week up in PA. Its right about at 105k mi and the mark to replace is 105k I believe. Would you feel fine driving one of these cars 500mi? Maybe after a brief inspection of the belt condition? I'd like to do it myself or take it to a great subaru shop down here if so.

This **** again. Some of you might recall the exact same thing last December. Oreilly China coil already went bad in less than 12 months and 10k. Free replacements for life so meh.

I used chingpow lifetime replacement rear hubs on my subaru. I went thru 3 on each side before buying Timken? Moog? I forget. But one of the chinese bearings have survived so I still have it's replacement in my closet. I was able to change the rear hub out in 15 minutes the last time I did it. The previous hub only lasted a month so the tool selection and procedure was fresh on my mind.

Timken or *** was all we used in the BMW crowd.
I don't know about THAT cold, because I'm too lazy to go re-read the threads, but I know the OFT guys with the BRZ have had luck changing a few tables in the E85 tunes to get them to start in the cold weather.
I probably won't run E85 again until the next oil change since I just took into Subaru at the 11k mark for one of my free ones. So it has whatever the stock syn is that I'm not sure is happy with E85 for 5-6k street miles.

Getting it to start is no prob, but it really doesn't like it, and you have to just hose down the cylinders with the stuff to get it to fire quickly.
I don't really like that because IMO it puts a lot of the fuel into the oil. (at least theoretically, I've not done a blackstone test yet).
I'm considering selling this car for a 15+ mustang gt or 16+ camaro ss. Tell me how crazy I am?

Not at all. Of course for me, Mustang > Camaro all day. And I still want a boost buggy because I've never owned one. But with STi's reputation for blowing motors (I'm sure it's guys trying to self-tune that don't know what they are doing but still even the '11-'12 Coyote motors lost a lot of engines due to the number 8 cylinder even with reputable tuners), would make me nervous.
Buy a GT350 and win at life?
I'm going to try to ditch the BRZ next year (and hopefully get a Focus RS) and sell enough my possessions that I could fit everything I own (sans a bed/TV) in the car and be able to move anywhere.
