Yeah, I'm sure all those e-mails from MT members really helped the Irish government change their policy on whale suicide.

Preface: I don't get to see videos at work

You know, in most nature-lover circles, it's highly frowned upon to interfere with the natural course of animals...but I suppose even wild animals are no longer immune from nanny laws now.

"If it keeps just one more whale from suffering..."

How do you know that mother nature didn't intend for that whale to kill itself like that at the end of its life? How do you know that, even though it may have looked like it was in misery for two whole days, evolution had somehow determined that this whale needed to die to make food more easily available for its offspring to reproduce, and that for two whole days this whale was experiencing the most incredible rush of endorphines it has ever experienced in it's entire life? How do you know that killing this whale before nature could run its course didn't abruptly end the most enjoyable sensation this whale had ever experienced?

I know that the sensation of pain is not exclusively human, but consider that even within our own species, the *perception* of pain is radically different across individuals based on age, timing, health.....propensity for orgasm.....

Don't you EVER AGAIN think that killing a wild animal is in that animal's own best interest without first considering the very real possibility that "humanity" is entirely wrong for that animal.

I'm not saying that "without a doubt, I am right and you are wrong", but I am most certainly saying that "You must absolutely consider the possibility that you are completely fuc king wrong" - (profanity deliberately used for required emphasis) - and I don't think you've seen that possibility.

Unless this whale was struck and critically injured by a large vessel - in which case just kill it already.

Fooger03 - "Unless this whale was struck and critically injured by a large vessel - in which case just kill it already."

Whatever about the rest of what you were saying BEFORE the above quote - It wasn't and it wasn't even 'beached' - it spent well over two days slashing itself up into bits just a few feet from a main road FFS and ended up bleeding to death well after two days of this

Hey, best lay down on a bed of Razors and have someone throw a blanket of Razors over you - roll around there for a few days and see if you come back out happy about it ??

(PS) Things have changed today in the Irish media and the IWDG & the NPWS are now BOTH trying not to take 'responsibility' about this whales horrific death even when they are the ones getting FUNDS to protect them from harm. I have a LOAD of emails at the start of this Fin whales death which show without a doubth all of those groups lies ! Save all of your crappy comments until all of this is finally done with

You really do refuse to accept the possibility that you might be wrong, don't you?

Tell me, what other animals in nature do you wish to protect from themselves?

Actually, don't tell me. I won't be revisiting this thread. I refuse to have a battle of wit with someone who is unarmed. Maybe we should be protecting animals from you?

I don't want to protect anything - I just don't like seeing any animal dying in so much pain/suffering for 3 days cutting itself up. I wouldn't let ANY of my own dogs go out like that & I've had a collie here for over 15.5 years.

AND hey, it was found that LOADS OF BEACHES HERE were CLOSED OFF from the public within 1 week of this happening due to an E-coli bacteria in the sea (I don't know how that can happen within salt water). Check it out for yourself here Several Co Cork beaches remain closed to swimmers - RT News

The whale was probably being 'eaten up' from inside out and it was a very 'YOUNG' whale going by what (so-called) scientists said.

Anyway - thanks to all here that viewed the video as it DID put pressure on the (so-called) scientists over here in Ireland AND IT DID MAKE THAT DIFFERENCE ! Really Proud of ya guys here on MiataTurbo !!

Bitchin Trolls need not reply they are being a total utter BITCH
