Td04-15 vs 2554 vs 2560
I didn't think there would be a differance of that extreme.
My cousin has a Delsol with the greddy IC & TD04-15G turbo.
We finnaly got everything finnished yesterday. So we try it out. That thing is inst'O-boost crazy. You can't keep it out of boost. When you drive normal it has no vaccume. I was woundering if the wastegate was set wrong. But it never goes over 5psi.
At highway cruise speeds the car is pushing 4psi.
With my girls 2554 I don't run much vaccume on highway but I do run some. Mabe his downpipe and exaust are better???? Hmmmm...
Then I jumped back in mine with the Older FM2560. Man total differance.
I can drive it normal. It seems like it takes a moment to get boost comparetively. But when it comes in it, is way more powerful than his.
And at highway cruise mine runs -20 vaccume. Even at 80mph. And it takes micro anticipation to get the boost in. But when it comes, Here We GO!
What vaccume or boost are you guys with 2560's running at 80? I'm woundering if some changed mine up a little or if that is normal and expected.

And we are sure this guy hooked his boost gauge up correctly? It seems a bit odd that he's pushing 4-5 lbs at cruise. I believe when I cruise I sit around 10 vac to 0, depending on throttle position. And yes, there is a "micro" anticipation prior to boost.

I wonder if he has connected the boost gauge to the intake tract between the compressor and then throttle body, rather than between the throttle body and the head? This would account for a complete absence of vacuum, and perhaps even a pound or two of positive pressure at cruise.

I don't think anyone here with the Greddy kit (td04h-15g) would describe it as constant boost....in the scheme of things, it's not even that small of a turbo.
the compressor wheel itself look to perform almost identically to the 2560 wheel. a touch less airflow capacity.

Thanks, I'll look to see where the boost gauge is hooked up. We didn't get to get on it much. We had to limp it home due to he forgot to bring the missing link for the map sensor. It went into safety mode fast. Once it hit safety mode, I basically just watched the gauge as he was trying to drive the car without messing it up.
He should have it on by the time I get off work. I'll drive it and see if it is boosting. And check the orientation of the vaccume lines.

positive number = boost
Negative number = Vaccume
I got something moronic and erotic for you.

unless you are towing a house or climbing a crazy incline you're in vacuum in cruise. Otherwise you'd be accelerating. Think about it. This del sol you speak of, could it cruise at highway speed before? If yes it was doing it with no boost. Now all the sudden that it has a turbo it needs boost to cruise at the same speed under the same conditions? NOT! A car like the del sol needs like 10hp to cruise. It's kinda the definition of cruise no matter what your speed. Once the car is moving a given speed, it takes very little power to maintain that speed on level ground.
Maybe it's the huge wing he most likely has on the trunk.

I'm confused though. My "boost" gauge doesn't have any negative numbers. Just postive numbers on the left that say InHg and on the right they are positive and say PSI. ****! Maybe I am always in positive manifold pressure. I'll get the sharpie out and fix my lil boost issue.

And the car did go to vacuum at stops. That was the wierd thing.
Jeez guys! It is time for beer and a strip club.
And it probably was the wing.
