Default 93 miata with water in cylinders

Looking for some ideas. A few months ago my 93 (stock motor) started running bad like on two to three cylinders. Brought it home and noticed a lot of water coming out of the exhaust. Smelled like gassy burned antifreeze. At the same time water leaking out my exhaust gasket onto my exhaust manifold and steaming. Checked the plugs and found #1 and #3 very wet with water and 2 and 4 dry. Checked oil, fine, clean and not milky. Checked coolant, clean,no oil present. Visually checked coolant fluid at the radiator cap with engine running seamed normal, no bubbles. Only cylinders 1 and 3 with water in them seems a little odd being the cylinders aren't next to each other but assumed must be the head gasket. Got the same advice from a number of people I asked. Pulled the head, took it to a machine shop and had it pressure tested, and resurfaced. New gaskets, put it back on and the exact same problem. Spitting water out the pipe, running ruff like on 2 to 3 cylinders and plugs 1 and 3 are wet with water.

Any ideas would be appreciated.

Thanks
Jeff
