Somehow I missed this earlier:

No, no no. That's *WAY* too loud. I said a MUTED floral print. Something in earthtones- bold, but subtle. Like what this guy is wearing:

I think he was kind of moderately popular with the ladies in his day.

Aaaaannnnd as long as I'm Rambling, I gave up on wiring that stupid DIY MS3X into that stupid DIY BOB and just ordered a PNP MS3 from Rev. (I was going to buy another MS3X for the AC Cobra and just figured I'd use the one I got for the FrankenMiata and get a PNP instead.) In anticipation of it's arrival I've pulled the car back into the shop and buttoned up just about everything associated with the new turbo motor, trans and diff, aside from installing the wideband and boost gauge.

I am so seriously psyched to drive this car again. It's been *way* too long.

That is a sad fact indeed. A lot of time when I'm dressed up I get a lot of weird looks from other guys. I can just tell they are thinking "look at that ------, who does he think he is". Though I guess since I'm not wearing it for other guys like some on here might, that shouldn't really be a concern.

I used to work in a lab with 80% female employees, and I was one of the only guys who came to work most of the time not in scrubs, and actually dressed pretty decently. I was also probably the only guy getting compliments on looking good, smelling good, and his *** grabbed by random female employees almost daily. So I guess there is something to be said for dressing well and standing apart.

He also only wore shirts like that when he was in Hawaii or playing a Hawaiian themed show.

If you want to use Elvis as a style guide - something I would strongly recommend against doing - here are some better samples to get inspiration from. Note that I said "inspiration" and not "to copy or replicate exactly."

Also, do not attempt the hair or the facial expressions.

You did not really miss it earlier, I edited my original post and added it. It just took me a while to get it done, so while I was editing, you and several others had already commented on my post and moved on.

Hit me in the head with a shovel and throw me in the hole, I'm done. My worst fear has come to life. The return of my post nasal drip thanks to this damn cold/flu I've had for the last 3 or 4 days. I'm not sure that I slept at all last night thanks to coughing and clearing my throat every 30 seconds or so. A non stop torrent of mucus down the back of my throat, what a lovely way to be. The first time I had it several years ago, I had an instance where it lasted non stop for over 6 months. Nothing I took would get rid of it. I hope this stay is brief.

I'm supposed to be going camping/hiking over the weekend, so I guess I better hang my hammock way away from everyone else unless I do want to be hit in the head and buried in the woods by angry friends.

Sounds like a personal problem; a ms3x into a diybob couldn't be any easier. It's the easiest MS to assemble since we were doing parallel MSI's into stock ECU cases back in 2006.

Every time I've ever gotten a flu shot (maybe 3 or 4 times) I have gotten the flu from it within a few days. Never again. Seems kind of pointless to give myself the flu when I might not get it anyway if I didn't get the shot. I'm over it for the most part anyway, besides this damn drip. Decongestant may or may not help. In my experience with this issue, sometimes thickening the mucus helps, other times thinning it further and allowing it to flow more freely helps. For a while I was having to sleep upright in a sitting position to get any sleep at all. Looks like I'm going to have to resort to that tactic again.

All these articles say you can't get the flu from the flu shot but who knows you can't trust anyone.

Moreover, a flu shot is ineffective if you already have the flu. The purpose of the shot is to create immunity, and this takes a period of 1-2 weeks, about the same time it would take you to fully recover from the flu under normal circumstances.

Effectiveness is not 100%, but estimates range from 60-90%.

Flu vaccines administered nasally do in fact contain live flu virus, and therefore it is possible to actually contract a full-blown case of the flu from such an immunization. This is most common in people who are immunocompromised (eg: people with HIV, transplant recipiants taking anti-rejection medications, the very young and very old, etc.) It is also possible that a person who has receives such an immunization may cause other people to contract the flu, particularly those in the aforementioned high-risk groups.

Flu vaccines administered via intramuscular injection (an actual shot, with a needle) do not typically contain live flu virus, and it is impossible to contract the flu from this immunization.

that doesnt make sense, the flu shot is injecting you with a certain strand of the flu.

flu shots are a scam.

Yes, one which is recombinant, or which has been killed until it is dead.

By contrast, those vaccines administered via nasal spray do contain live flu virus which has merely been attenuated, so it is possible to catch the flu from this if you have a weakened immune system.

94 Diesel E-350 Bus

I have watched that bus drop from $3500 to $1500. I think I am going to jump on it this weekend. Would make an awesome tow vehicle.

And you could use it to give senior citizens scenic tours to make a little extra cash.

Yes, I live in an area in which I'm sure that all of the ingredients are readily available, and I can certainly type "How to make a Croquembouche" into Google, but it's not the same. I know where my talents lie, and creating exotic French pastries is outside of my envelope.

What I really want is something like Ikea for clothing. I want to be presented with five different pictures of men who are of about the same size, body shape and complexion as me, and say "I like this one and this one," and then the computer spits out a bill of materials with SKU numbers that I take to the register, and they give me all the things in the picture along with simplified "how to wear this" instructions for any of the non-obvious ****, and a sheet of paper that I can take with me to the barber the next time I go that tells him exactly what to do to my head to make it look exactly like the guy in the picture, without me needing to have a clue what's going on.

Sweedish meatballs with lingonberry sauce would be an added bonus.

But in short, I really want to bypass all of the intermediate steps (researching fashion, visiting many different stores, selecting items one at a time) and just go directly from "I agree that this picture looks nice" straight to "Now I own all of these things".

Can somebody please invent this? I'll even provide seed money.

flu shots are totally safe and you should all get one. and yes it does not stop the flu if you already have it (Tamiflu can kinda) but it will prevent you from getting the flu (as JP said, 60-90% effective) and prevent you from spreading it around.

flu shots do not prevent the transmission of misinformation however.

I suggested it as a preventative for Jesse so he doesn't kill himself if he gets the flu.
