Epic wind is epic. Top down when all hell breaks loose is not fun. Tree branches flying into my passenger seat while I'm driving is not fun. Dodging trash dumpsters while racing home, however, is fun. Like mother nature's version of autocross. I am really pissed though that the late model stock car race at my local track was cancelled. I've been waiting all week for it and even had to take off from work.

Amusing and tangentially-related sidebar: They're doing some construction near where I live, and yesterday they placed a bunch of cones rather widely-spaced and needlessly far from the curb, to protect an area in which absolutely nothing was being done.
I got a thumbs-up from one of the workers when I proceeded to treat this as an impromptu slalom.
This morning, they've spaced the cones much more closely together, and much nearer to the curb. As I was on my bike, I treated them as a slalom anyway.

Yeah I heard that the winds were upwards of 80mph and even heard talk of a few tornados touching down in my area. I still don't have power. I've been crashing at my friend's place all last night and all day today.

Unrelated to Braineack's whining:
Oi Unit 3 has begun restart! The first reactor to be brought back online in Japan since the country-wide shutdown last year is expected to reach full criticality later today (which is Monday in Japan) and will back back on the grid by Wednesday.
Hundreds of protesters turned out to criticize the event, claiming that they'd prefer to live in the 19th century.
Unit 4 is scheduled for restart on July 14.

we got "20% chance of thunderstorms"
and then 11 tornadoes and 80+ mph winds knocked over a bunch of trees. a little hard to prepare for that.
We are selling our 6 acre lot and moving our stuff (horses, tractors, trucks) to my dads girlfriends new house. Its a sweet house and the money from our land/barn will be used to make a badass shop at her place (insulated, floor heat, AC in a few bays, and an apartment for me). I grew up out here and ended up saving it though dads divorce these last few years. Ever since this decision was made, my back teeth have been hurting in the morning. Nervous much?
Oh, I'm also getting back into the nursing program after being 2 points shy of passing 3rd semester last fall (had 293 points, needed 295).
