They did they tap, took a lot of samples of ****. Tried asthma drugs but when they took her off tube she was having trouble again. They are going to perform an endoscopy now to see if they can see anything.

The kitten & cat thread
She's in an oxygen tank right now. Been able to breathe on her over an hour, but the docs are kinda clueless. And who knows what happens if she's not being fed pure oxygen.
She's also now testing borderline anemia.
They've strongly reccomened we note her as do not resesitate.
It doesn't look good. Even if she can breathe, they are only a tiny bit optimistic all the drugs they pumped her full will prevent this in the future.
To top it off my other cats are just wondering around looking for her...

When our cat (pictured above) had the ***** earlier this year, we took him to the vets. He wasnt acting like he normally does. He is usually a big flirt and interested in checking everything out in the exam room. We finally get him to jump up on the exam table and he proceeds to the sink, where he promptly *****. No no no nooooo..... oh boy.
We were so embarrassed and decided to leave it so the doc could see and test. The vet was very cool about it.

Thank guys. It's just not how I thought she'd go.
I always worried that her rear legs would become too painful and she'd suffer at the end. She had horrible arthritis in her rear knees, and we'd call her Peg-Legs because of the funny way she'd walk as to not bend her rear legs. But she always just tanked through the problem all her years. Even when we took her to the vet last Saturday, we thought she was in pain from her legs. But I guess it was her first real signs that something wasn't working right.
I'm relieved that this was somewhat sudden and she never had to suffer.
Before I rushed her off to the hospital yesterday, she in came hang out with me like she does every weekend. She curled up in the sun, and I adjusted the blinds for maximum coverage. Soon after her wheezing breathes turned into gasps and she was unable to get enough airflow.
None of the doctors that saw her, nor none of the various tests we performed all day pointed to any cause. As soon as they'd put a tube in her throat she was able to breathe and the color would return to her tongue. Take it out and her throat would close back up on her.
I woke up completely heartbroken. She wasn't in her spot on the bed, she didn't follow me downstairs to get some morning treats, and she didn't just jump up here on the couch behind me to sit in the sun.
We were just not prepared. We always joked she was getting old, we described her as a grumpy old cat, but otherwise she was a perfectly able and healthy cat. She was the runt of the litter for sure, but she never let that stop her -- I'm sure she out-survived her brothers and sisters.
I miss her, and as much as I love my other two, they don't add up to 1/4 of a Belle.
Here she is with me Nov of 2002, two months after I adopted her 13 years ago:

Looks like I'm bringing cammy into the vet today. I'm worried now because she's having almost the same issues Scotts cat was having. She has always been a heavy breather, but now shes coughing, sneezing and almost wheezing sound when she breaths. She is constantly under covers, or sitting on a heat vent. Just gotta get her checked out to be on the safe side.
