Math Challenge
Alright so are some of you know I have been working on a turbine housing issue. And well after finding that a 53mm turbine housing didnt fit on my 53mm turbine i was confused (it didnt fit over the turbine)
So i went through the possible combos and sure enough there is a 53.8 turbine wheel. So i crab my trusty (harbor freight) caliper and go at it. Sure enough its odd bladed so i cant measure directly. So I measure across two blades to a third blade (imagine a peace sign). Get 2.066in, 2.065in, and 2.065in.
I run the calcs and get a turbine wheel that is 54mm.
So is my harbor freight caliper right and were i have a custom turbine wheel that has no record of existing in any other turbo or is my caliper off

Lets here your opinions, and if anyone wants to double check my math i would appreciate it.
Use 2.065in and 9 blades (so 40deg apart)

I get 54.081 mm as the diameter of the turbine blade based on your 2.065 in measurement and a 9 blade turbine (40 degs between blades). That is about +0.003" from 54mm which is in the realm of measurement error (from your calipers). At 2.066 I get +0.004" from 54mm.
I would sketch it out but I am already up past my bed time

Sam, when you have odd even tooth/blade objects you can not measure directly the diameter because opposing each tooth would be a valley. So knowing the amount of blades (9) and the configuration (a circle 360 deg) you can measure from two blades across to one.
