Not the same thing, but I was pretty into TORCS for a while. It's a computer racing simulator that can be used like an ordinary video game (not the best.) But the cool part is that you can create cars that drive themselves. Race them against each other and even enter them in races with cars created by other people.

The physics is actually pretty good. It's old school by today's graphics standards, but the physics is all there in the vehicle dynamics.

My college GF interned at a zoo one summer and that's similar to how they would prepare snake food.

An acquaintance of mine, who is a software developer, breeds and trains exotic birds. He is also an accomplished rat butcher, and for essentially the same reason.

Random sciencey stuff at work:
Bovine serum used to simulate human juices. It has sodium azide (the same thing stuff that makes car airbags splode), so it has to be deactivated before getting flushed.

A little sodium nitrite mixed with some sulfuric acid, and...
mustard gas:

The solution has a PH lower than 1 at this point, but a little NaOH brings it back to neutral and it just gets poured down a drain.

Kids these days... They ambush a political figure on the street trying to get them to say something they can put a spin on and then they get their panties in a wad when he gets a little handsy.

I'm guessing she was late for her hair appointment.

"State police said Gilson’s children, ages 3 and 5, were inside her car, but not secured in car seats, on the afternoon of April 6 when they stopped her after she was clocked driving 124 mph on the Maine Turnpike.

... Gilson did not seem to understand why she was being arrested and declined to say where she was going in such a hurry."
