That could only be better if it was 69 Earths.

Some of the unofficial renderings of the F-15EX loadout capability are downright terrifying. Still one of the sexiest big fighters of all time.

Every time I see someone use the word "stimmy," this is what I think of:

I have to assume that HP at that level is estimated via some calculation, rather than directly measured. Because it would be inconvenient to attach a lever to the moon in order to use it as an inertial load.

My assumption is that being in the same room with that engine at 120 RPM is even more dramatic than being in the same room with my generator when it's online at 1,800 RPM. And even with earplugs and over-ear protectors, it's fairly dramatic. The sound kind of bypasses the normal air-path, and goes straight in via mechanical coupling through your skull.

Slow speed diesel sound level isn't that bad. When they are on a slow bell (basically idling), they have a syncopated beat that is quite danceable. Engines operating at 1800 rpm are considered medium speed engines, and they are like Joe describes. Detroit Diesel engines are the worst for that in my experience. I much prefer steam propulsion but was born about 40 years too late to have spent my whole career on those (although I have done quite a lot of time on them).
