The director of manufacturing at work patented a clamp a long time ago. Some tool supply place offered 5 figures for the rights to the design or a small percentage of each they sold. He chose to get royalties. They have only sold a few dozen the majority of which are used in house. Oh well.

One of the VPs for the company I work for owns the patent on the little strip thing that tells what your blood sugar is (he invented this before he came to work for us). He only works because he wants to...

It's always comforting when your new car body parts arrive in crushed boxes.

I drove a V12 Jag E-type (obviously not one of the lightweights) back in the early 1980's. Almost bought it, but I was afraid basic maintenance would be more than I could afford. Man, that thing was the very definition of smooth.

Ended up buying a 1977 Corvette instead. I have always wished I had spent the extra money and gotten the Jag. One of my biggest regrets.

I need to take a pictures of the "do not enter" signs to the loading dock of my Wegmans. I think there are 6 different signs that all say do not enter. But yet, I always see some idiot go that way anyway.

Please make a simple, one line sign and tape it to the bar that opens the door saying "PUSH HERE FOR CANDY" and see how long it stays up.

Not sure. No specs on the wafers running through my area. Since I'm not an engineer, I really couldn't tell you anything based on the design of one wafer or another.

Unrelated: my lunch....grilled on dat Foreman for mmmmmmm warm goodness.

'Twas just a guess. Often, when you see big, uniform blocks like that, it winds up being a memory.

OTOH, memories are still usually built on silicon, not gallium...
