The Ring is a public road, sort of, but unless you can find some sort of specific insurance(unlikely), you're SOL. I don't remember the url, but if you google Nurburgring Ben Lovejoy, you can find an English website devoted to Ring play, complete with a cost schedule for replacing Armco and cleaning up fluid spills for when you run out of talent. It's loaded(or at least used to be) with useful info. As I recall, car rental companies post spies at the track entrance so that they can hammer you for using their cars.

I just figured out that Iron Maiden stole a guitar riff from Smooth Criminal and sped it up slightly back in 1983.
Iron Maiden - The Trooper - YouTube
Iron Maiden - The Trooper - YouTube
The Trooper, Peace of Mind, Iron Maiden, 1983.
Smooth Criminal, Bad, Michael Jackson, 1987.
If there was any influence, it was IM > MJ, not the other way around.
It was not until double checking my facts for this post that I learned that MJ is singing "Annie are you ok" and not "Eddie are you OK", which is how I have heard it for the past 28 years.

Every time I hear that song (MJ version), it takes me back to a sweltering winter night in a tiny little apartment on a small island just off the coast of Fajardo, Puerto Rico, where I heard it for the first time on a cheap little Sony portable radio, listening to a station which played nothing but American Top-40 music, up late in near total darkness snuggled in my filthy and threadbare but much-treasured Snoopy bedsheets and fending off invisible mosquitoes.
It's a good memory. One of the most vivid in my whole mind, in fact.
And I still hear "Eddie."
Oh, to be ten years old again. Only not poor and living in squalor in a third-world suburb of a first-world country...
