EDIT: Which, now that I think about it, was also a plot-device on one of the first-season episodes of Battlestar Galactica. Starbuck was crashed on a planet with a non-breathable atmosphere and no radio, search teams were scouring the surface trying to locate her, and all the while there was a clock in CIC ticking down the minutes of her suit's estimated O2 supply.
