lazyboy looks like college student trying to look 40.
maybe start here: http://www.apartmenttherapy.com/
and go check out lazyboy when you're 60. I hear they have a great warranty.
srs, just have scott work you a design.

HGTV is always good for some inspiration.
Fae, best thing to do is pick a bunch of photos of houses you like and post them up, we can try to find a similar theme between all of them, and suggest a paint/furniture setup to go along with it.
Srsly though, get ready to paint, it's the back drop for everything else, and without it everything looks blah.

My GF just bought an AWESOME Lovesac sofa that was not cheap but definitely worth the cash. Its cool because you can buy obnoxious colors and completely change the color to something more mild later.
She bought this:

But a more obnoxious yellow/green.

I just did granite in my kitchen. Try Granix. They're cheap and in Columbia I think. Bunch of Czech dudes. They did it fast and price was right for a dark sealed granite. Around $2K. I'll be retiling and redesigning my kid's bathroom maybe this Friday. You should put padding on the walls of one of your rooms for your coked out girlfriend so she doesn't hurt herself.

but not as cheap as home depot 12" square granite tiles and a friend with a wet saw. I think I did my whole kitchen plus ripping out and replacing the plywood on top of the open cabinets for a few hundred bucks. The tile is like 5.99 a piece. winner. it is absolute win in terms of fast, cheap, and easy.
And if you're feeling like a lazy wh0re:

then doing next day blinds
then getting a couch. hustly why you say that podcouch thing is the superior? I probably will never reconfigure.
then setting up my office. I desperately need to use one of my spare bedrooms for office. gonna get a big ole metal desk
then countertops and bathrooms
sofa sofa sofa
i need to sit on it before i buy
