Meanwhile accelerated performance put down over 400whp on the stock motor, ran 11's at like 127, and still haven't broken anything besides 4th gear (from going airborne and shock loading it like crazy upon landing)

18 psi: A GT2860RS is probably perfect for the BRZ. But you're right, a 2560 is probably way better than their Mitsu turbo.
I totally get the concept of taking a superfun sweet chassis like the BRZ with not-so-high limits and Prius tires and not-so-high power on a mountain road, compared to taking say, a 400 hp 996TT, whose high limits mean you have to be going a lot faster to have fun. However, on USA twisty roads, there are way too many slowpokes who do not pull aside to let you pass. And it is incredibly frustrating to follow them mile after mile and not be able to pass on short straights. This is the *number one* reason I installed a turbo. And in my experience 12 lbs per whp is needed to easily pass on short straights. That would be 250 whp on the BRZ. (My 10 lbs/hp currently doesn't really make passing any easier at lower speeds).
And also, having a 996TT on US roads with the speed **** cops is like being an animal in a cage that can't be let out.

With a curb weight of about 2800 pounds, that's about 233 WHP which I am thinking that would be more like 283 BHP if you assume the spread between WHP and BHP is proportionate. I think the stock cars typically dyno about 165 WHP on a standard Dynojet and are rated at 200 BHP.
Do you have an E36 M3 or was that ZX-Tex?

Ah, supercharged. I was going to ask about the comparison of the 86 relative to the E36, but it's less useful (for me) if your car has forced induction.
Is that the one you were saying was ~10 lbs / whp? Or were you referring to the Miata?

Just for ***** and giggles I overlaid a stock K20 with a BRZ (stock and with some exhaust).
K20 is definitely better (especially if you were to set the VTEC crossover down at 4500 rpm where it belongs), but the BRZ engine is no slouch. Looks like theyre hitting pretty similar levels of BMEP. Compared to typical Subaru plots, looks like they actually tried to get some revs out of this one.
