Talking Looks like my luck is taking a turn for good

I been suffering of Murphy for a while now. Today it seems that my luck might start to turn the other way. A co-worker called me into her office; she express interest in helping my situation. She said that for a while she's seen the stuff that had happened to me, and felt I deserve a "little boost". She made a rather generous monetary contribution for my fall classes.

Anyway, this really made my day. I'm really thankful, and stunned, and thought I'd share.

Murphy has been hanging out with me lately as well...or maybe it's his twin brother.

I had to drive across town through the storm bands of a hurrican in my miata 120 mile round trip to my University school (of which I am off main campus student) to learn that my exam is going to be posted on the web. Hip hip horray for me.

Hope that makes you guys feel better.

You guys won't believe my good luck!

I just quit my job, and when I went to unemployment I found out they're going to pay me nearly what I was making just to sit at home and **** around all day.

Then I went to financial aid at school and found out I got a shitload of grants now that I don't have any income, again getting paid more for NOT doing anything than when I was being an idiot and working full time around classes.

Then I went home and found out my wife is pregnant with our second child, so we made an appointment at the WIC office and will get like half our food for free.

I'm pretty sure we're about to not have to pay for our healthcare anymore either.

******' A.

Actually, I didn't mean any offense to the OP...quite the opposite.

Our young Cuban friend is walking proof of charitable people. You can see that if you work hard, people WANT to help you when you're in need. This goes back to my marathon gatorade table analogy.

I kills me that buffon is like me, a working student, not eligible for any handouts, surrounded by those taking entitlements when they could easily advance their position in life themselves.

The real kicker is that our reward, once we graduate, will be to pay even more taxes to fund these ever growing programs. There used to be a thing we had to help each other out without the government forcing us to, and it was called community. People wonder where that went, and why no one cares anymore. It's simple really, the government cares for us so we can become jaded shopping drones, and our only sense of community is a once sacred flag that we plaster on the back of our SUVs.

To: Rahm Emanuel
Chief of Staff to President Obama

Dear Mr. Emanuel,

I’m writing you today because I want my very own taxpayer funded government job with benefits. I’ve heard a lot about all the jobs “created or saved” by the Stimulus, but am frustrated that I am still out of work. It seems the only sure-fire way to get a job is to challenge a White House favored Democrat in a U.S. Senate Primary and hope the White House can offer me a position in the Obama administration not to run.

I don’t necessarily want to be a Senator, but who wouldn’t want the above-average salary along with the rich health insurance and pension benefits?

Now I will not say that you should offer me a job in the Obama administration or I’m going to run. That would be illegal, although that doesn’t seem to matter much. White House lawyers have blessed the earlier White House job offer to Rep. Joe Sestak to get him out of the Senate race against Arlen Specter. It also seems that someone at the White House offered Andrew Romanoff a position to not run for the U.S. Senate seat from Colorado.

I need a job. As long as President Obama’s stimulus isn’t doing anything to create new jobs in the private sector, I’ll take an Obama job, even if it means I have to run for Congress.

Sincerely,

PS: How about an Ambassadorship? I didn’t donate any money to the campaign, but I love foreign travel.

Damon, you crack me up. I actually thought about getting fired, then filing for unemployment, and top it off with financial aid. At the same I felt wrong about it, but who knows; I might just do it when I get back my financial aid denying me benefits because "I make too much money"
