The Mark II FV-SR comes with that little rail section:
I'm a little jelly Sam.. That's pretty similar to the ProStaff scope I wanted to pickup until I found my Simmons for $25.00... Honestly haven't had a lot of trigger time with mine to really know much about the setup yet. Can't find any .22lr and I'm not willing to shoot what I've got left.......

The nice thing about target grade .223 is that the price hasn't changed much, and it's still more-or-less available. The AR guys don't care about the fancy 75grain BTHP stuff...

H&R 1871 Handi-Rifle in .223 Remmington, thinking about ordering up a .308 heavy barrel for it here soon... I mean, it's only $115.00 and if the .308 is anything remotely like the .223 rem barrel it'll be a 700 yard tack driver, perhaps not with my shaky caffeinated finger on the trigger anyway.. Of course, there's always the .500S&W option if .308 ammo doesn't cost enough . . .

You can always find a 5% coupon for Optics Planet or wait until something goes on huge sale. I'm fairly surprised that shooting "accessories" haven't been more discounted from the bigger companies in order to take up revenue slack now that they've got no ammo to sell.
I keep going back and forth on what I really want for my AR. I keep coming back to the Aimpoint PRO, but it's $400 for a ******* red-dot. I think I've gotta try the Primary Arms micro for under $100 shipped first... at least I'll know.
Still have the Primary Arms 3x... $150 shipped or will trade for whatchagot?

I can already tell I like the front-mount AO. I suck at relief consistency and forcing a good cheek weld... my eye is always in a different place and it's one of the things I'm working on. This scope really is going to show me a lot that I've been missing and make be a better shooter.

Just heard from my buddy who gifted me a NB Coated BCG that he'll bring me another one in June/July when he moves back home.... hopefully my 300aac upper will be here by then!

Anyone have a complete A2 takeoff stock kicking around they want to clear out? I can't seem to find anywhere that actually has complete sets in stock or at a non-insanity price. A "not airsoft" milspec height A3 detachable carry handle would also be super cool as well...

Welcome to the club. Good luck finding one. Something about 30 rounds of WMR in an autoloader sounds awful fun to me...
I'm wanting the carbine, too...
Especially if she came with it...
I'm kinda wanting an RFB too...

For those of you who don't know Oleg Volk... you must click:

I firmly believe that a crucial key, if not the most crucial key, if not the actual final end vote in the whole "firearms debate" is in winning the vote of women. When soccer moms see trouble and reach for a gun before any other possible course of action, it's over, and we've won. Until then, all a politician has to say to convince them to be anti is "it's for the children". What utter bullshit.

I don't remember who posted it (sam?) and I'm too lazy to look back through the thread and find it...but whoever it was that suggested anyone with the ability to get their CCW should get it - thanks for the reminder and suggestion. I am pleased to be another potentially armed citizen. I've only carried once so far, to the range and back tonight, but I'm positively stoked about it.
Took my state mandated 8-hour course on 3/3 and surprisingly had a lot of fun. Seriously I thought it was going to be a bunch of boring law talk but that was only the first hour. On 3/4 my paperwork was submitted to the county Sheriff. On 3/19 I picked up the approval letter and stopped by the DMV for a non-driver license with CCW endorsement. $205.50 for the privilege of carrying a concealed weapon for the next 3 years.
In my county of 368,000 people the Sheriff processed 450 applications during the 2 week period. I would estimate at least 80% were granted though it's hard to say with the high tech notification method of twice a week recording 300+ approved control numbers. Seriously they made a recording twice a week of the new and non-picked up applications. How that is easier than posting it on their website I don't know. The application and pickup process was very smooth and easy though. I don't think I spent more than a combined 15 minutes between filling out paper work, finger printing and pickup.
I need a new holster though, the one I ordered from Kydextech sits way too high with IWB carry. Any suggestions?

As a matter of fact, I have the perfect recommendation: Holsters, Ruger items in MDJ Store store on eBay!
Happily ordered my second holster from him because I somehow managed to lose my first one and have recommended 4 friends to buy from him. Good product for the right price.
Here was mine brand new:
Then after about a year of carry:

Carry position is as different as their are carriers. I wish mine rode a little higher instead of being as flush with the waistband. Granted, I'm 6'4" and 250lbs at this time, but when I reach, ideally I'd like to be able to get my whole hand on the grip right away. Instead, I find myself re-gripping on the draw stroke as I raise the gun.
Just remember when you're carrying... NOBODY ELSE KNOWS. It's fairly common for first timers to assume everybody out there is staring at your side and that your face gives you away. In reality, I've said this before, I'm convinced that there's no such thing as printing. Unless you're IWB under some spandex biker shorts and not wearing a shirt, nobody will ever know it's there by spotting "the outline of the gun" even through fairly tight clothing.
While CCW gains huge traction every day, (ILLINOIS, JUST ANOTHER COUPLE MONTHS) it's still not mainstream enough that the average person expects you to have one just like everybody nowadays has a cel-phone or two. You could probably dual carry Desert Eagle .50's under a plain t-shirt one-size-too-small and nobody would give it a second look.
Just wait until you get the ***** up to OC sometime, then the fun really begins.

Always good to see another tall fat man in a miata. 6' 2", 220lbs checking in.

I really wish MO would update the OC laws. Letting each municipality set their own laws about it just plain sucks. It's incredibly difficult to find out who forbids it. Did it a couple times with my old 9mm while out squirrel hunting on conservation land. It was fun and none of the trees seemed to mind.

I OC once in a while around the city but for the most part would rather just CC. Less hassle, less chance for negative LEO interactions (harassment), and nobody knows when you've got a gun. The reactions from people when they see you with a big *** gun on your hip is fairly amusing to observe, especially if they spot it after they've had some interaction with me. (Eg, Holding the door open, a smile and light conversation, etc..)
You've reminded m of the very first day I CC'd. Went down to the caves (Kansas City Underground Business park: Google Maps) to work on some stuff with a co-worker and was carrying my Glock22 with an IWB holster. After we had been working for a few hours it was time for a visit to QuikTrip (Gas station) just a few blocks down the street. One fun thing about QuikTrips is (especially in KCMO) they're always FULL of cops, like at least 3 anytime I visit one. At this point it's around 1am and the place is absolutely dead, not even one customer in the store aside from like 5 KCMO police officers. Soon as I walk in the door they all stop and look at me. I completely froze, they know I've got this giant gun holstered in my pants.. After about 2 seconds they continued their discussion and ignored me as I realized they were on the left and I carry on the right side, so there is no possible way they could've seen it.
All was well from there, now I don't even think about it. Sometimes I do wonder / worry if my polo or t-shirt might've ridden up exposing my piece but for the most part it's a non-issue.
Not sure if I mentioned this one, but my Glock holster I bought off ebay from another seller and I'm just not very happy with it. The leather is super thin and flimsy, the overall holster is very large, and the rivets holding the kydex on the leather have started to come loose. If not for having to replace my Keltec's holster I would have bought one from mesoto for my Glock as well, maybe come fall I'll do that.

Welcome to MissouriOpenCarry.org!
I don't know anything about that crew, just found on a google search... but you might join and ask them what you can do to help bring the issue to the attention of a concerned Republican politician. Nowadays, you might even find a Democrat politician eager to look "pro-gun" who might co-sponsor a bill to fix those laws.
I'll reiterate that the VCDL "Virginia Citizens Defense League" is probably tied with CALGUNS for the most active and successful state level pro-gun entity. If you get active with MOC, be sure that they're in communication with other organizations that have had success to pick their brains.
