Oh it's on like Donkey Kong now. I've got a Koni Race/GC setup on the way. Looking forward to suspension awesomeness.
Hustler I think you just became the meat in the sandwich. I'll be the top slice of bread, face down.

great! your power won't help you at msr-c, plus you'll have a learning curve with the new car, susp., aero, etc...
now tws will be a different story, but i have something up my sleeve for you there too!

Agreed. I am decently quick on a bike at the Tx Challenge tracks but this vehicle is an entirely different animal. The liter bikes do not go a whole lot faster than the 600s at MSR-C. Now TWS on the other hand... The speeds on the front straight on a liter bike are sick.

OK just want to verify that although the AMB transponder use is a good option, it is not required for the Challenge. We just need some other reliable timing system, GPS or beacon based.
I plan to use Racechrono running on my Windows 6.1 cell/PDA (Sprint HTC Mogul) with a Qstarz BT-Q818X Bluetooth GPS Receiver. It is the first time I will be trying it so I hope to do a little testing before the event. I'll have a video camera in the car as well so I can verify lap times with that. I might be able to borrow an AMB transponder though that is not certain.

I may just ******* buy maxq for this ****. I'm holding out for my tax return but this is getting frustrating and gay.
I don't want to be told I'm screwed because NASA sucks at renting transponders.

to be fair, that's the first time nasa has f'kd up like that. well, since i started in '06. (that i know of) but they do run out of them, so if you don't check in first thing in the morning, you might be s.o.l. anyway's.
zx-tex, as long as it times you automatically, your good. if you have to hit a button manually every lap, it won't count. also, if your not using a transponder, you must give me your best lap time before the last session. (preferably after each session) if you run the last session and do better, come back. reason is i need to handout trophies, and need to get lap times situated a.s.a.p. so you guys can load up and hit the road if you have to.
i will have a leader board setup so you guys can make sure the lap times are correct and see who's doing what. if someone is faster than you with less, go and talk to them, see what they are doing, discuss lines. this is a friendly comp. to promote the deveolpment of our cars and our skillzzzzz. take advantage of this. to help with this, lets try and setup our cars all together. it'll really help.
can't wait!

going to put in my oil pressure reducer feed fitting (please stop spitting oil out the BOV little car, please!!!, change my oil drain line, and possibly put in my rx7 oil cooler and see what the new alignment and ride height give me. I hoped to get a couple hours in this weekend at msr-c but my buddies flaked on the weekend, so I'm going in blind, again. I promise to have more fun and be less stressed this time and maybe I'll be a little more pleasant to be around. lol

What about dinner after, I need some pointers on the track. It's been 3 years since I have been there, so i need all the help i can get!

Tech inspection on Friday night sounds like a good idea. It sure is nice to show up at the track Saturday morning and have most of the **** ready to go. What are the tech hours? I suppose I can find that on the NASA schedule.
I'm up for some din din Friday.

tech is usually open 5-9pm on fri. night. i'm hoping to be there by 6pm latest. i took friday off this time since it's pretty far from corpus.
hopefully they have log books this time so i don't have to get teched anymore.
please remember to come see me so i can get your info. if you don't sign up by sat. morning 9am, your not in the challenge. of course there can be exceptions. if you have car trouble or something and show up late to the track, i'll still sign you up.

The more accurate timing we can get the better!
I'll try to get up there to make it to tech before 6pm. we should to get a phone # list going so we can find each other at these events.
