FWIW I am bringing a transponder as well so I'll have good lap times. I also want to compare it to the racechrono readings ( RaceChrono - The GPS Lap Timer ) to see how accurate they are.

Anyone have any recommendations?

I'm calling last place in Unlimited, to continue my streak.
For those of you who can't wait until Saturday, here go a preview: MSR Cresson
Pump up the volume for full effect.

Just going on Saturday but could change my mind and go Sunday as well. It depends if I get a full fix on Saturday or not. If I do not get on the track on Sunday I'll probably hang out for awhile in the morning.

[QUOTE=Double O 86;533756]I just signed up.

you weren't last. the guy in the green miata was.
i'm signed up for both. it's too far of a trip for me to just run 1 day. plus i need points on both days for TT.
i'm not sure what iphone apps are out there for lap timers. last i heard there weren't any because the iphone's gps was too slow.
i have an android app called "trackmaster" i compared it to the timing equip. at a pca event. it read 0.2 slower than what the pca posted. others that have tried it against an amb already are claiming it's less than 0.2 difference.
i just figured out the other day i could send pics of my screen. well, almost got it figured, you can see the pic could have been bigger. this is of entry into sweeper at msr-h

****. Fuckitey **** giggidtyintheass fuckme ******* ****
Long story short I found some problems with the front suspension geometry on the alignment rack this morning that are going to require some fabrication to fix. I may or may not be able to make the event but I am still going to try. The need to do some welding and the rainy weather outside are further compounding the problem. So I went from a 99% probability of attending to a 30% probability of attending all in the space of about 15 minutes. I'm guessing I will need to take some time off of work to make it happen in time for this event.
Getting the car onto the alignment lift was pretty amusing. With the ultra low ground clearance they had to basically use a floor jack on the back to get it on the lift

I just bought a fender roller, hopefully it will show up by Friday and I can bring it to the track...will trade for beer or lap dances ~=$20 (from the club, not one of you freaks)
On another note, I have a lap timer GPS for iphone but I keep forgetting to use it. I have a G2X in my race car...and I never thing about it in my street/track car.

there may be floor space left in my room at the hotel across the street, but not sure yet until i get definate answers from a couple friends of mine. if so, it would cost ya $20

+1 the cheapest way to go is to camp at the track.
The weather forecast is looking good...
My car is looking not so good. The steering rack that was supposed to get here today did not, so I am really cutting it pretty close. But I have not given up yet. Whatever I show up will not be pretty but it will run No one better give me any crap about the trunk lid. It is the one that looks like... crap... because I had to put off the wing installation.
I have to decide by about 3 pm tomorrow if I am going to drop the hotel room or not.

Gas Head Motorworks
This just in:
Gas Head Motorworks will be in force at the NASA event this weekend at Motorsports Ranch Cresson.
Why is this important? They provide full trackside support to their customers and to participants who request it. Here's one small example of the multiple services they provide:
There's nothing worse than having crank sensor or cam sensor go bad during a track day. Good luck trying to find a replacement on the weekend. However, GHM stocks items like that and can get you back on the track quickly, so your track weekend is not ruined.
Look for the big RV and trailer with the Miatas parked nearby, or the dudes with the bright orange t-shirts. Tell 'em "Double O 86 sent me".
No affiliation blah blah, just a satisfied customer.
