My DIY racing stripes
Sanded, primed, one layer of paint
Bumper result:
And started on top
About half an hour I'm going to go and take off the tape and newspaper. It turned out extremely well, it just needs a clearcoat and a wax and it'll look great. Tomorrow I'm going to do the top of the windshield, the trunk, and the rear bumper.
I really really like the front bumper, how it goes skinnier as it goes down, that took me a while. Reminiscent of the Viper, I think.
Thoughts? I think it looks great. At least the front bumper, and it looks like the hood is going to turn out just as well.
EDIT: Ohhh yeah:

looks like it will come out nice. though your whole car and many things in your garage are probably covered in overspray. it will cleanup but it's much easier to mask EVERYTHING off before hand. to fix, clay for paint, razor blades or steel wool on windows. plastics and rubbers...good luck

I was talking about visible overspray, perhaps we are on different pages here. Hell, I oversprated into my house then, onto my pillow. Diffusion is a powerful force, isn't it?

I also hope you were at least wearing a mask because you'll have it in your nose too. pick your nose it will be all black

well the overspray i'm referring to may not be visible until you get very close. youd be surprised how much there is, run your hand over your cars paint or windshield, it will probably feel gritty, that's overspray. i'm not kidding, it goes a long way. it's not a huge deal but much easier to avoid it.

And hmm, that's actually interesting about overspray. I'll have to check, and possibly clean it up.
Despite what people think, however, despite the flaming from a few people, I'm still extremely happy with the result, and am glad that I did it.
Yes, I do, I was just arguing about this with one of my other friends. I sanded back down to metal, roughed it up, primed with 3 layers, 3 layers of paint, and a topcoat. He says it won't last 'till August, we have 20 dollars riding on it. There's no reason that this wouldn't stick, I did this carefully and properly. No Krylon, properly mixed paint form the Napa paint center in Minnesota.

Even in a ventilated area overspray will cover everything within about 20ft. Like Mach said, you might not see it, but you will feel it and see it next time you wash the car when the water reacts to the rough surface. Enjoy fully clay barring both cars.
