The red tube has got to be a Vacuum manifold
I doubt it has nitrous, You can get NA numbers like that with enough work, and by the looks of it that thing has a lot of time and money in it.

I'm not sure why you're comparing it to a superbike bike engine. They always have, and always will be torqueless. It's built to be reliable for thousands of street miles, not for all out racing. Not to mention I don't think torque/liter is linear.

O ****, I thought they said they were making 215 hp, not 315.
315 hp/250 ft lbs is impossible, those numbers have to be with the nitrous...
BMEP = 150.8 x TRQ / Displacement
1930cc = 117.8 ci
150.8 x 253 ft-lbs / 117.8 cu in = 323 PSI
Its pretty widely accepted that 190-200 PSI is the limit for a otto cycle engine
Not even Formula 1 engines exceed 200 PSI by much.
So yah, those numbers are impossible without nitrous of forced induction.

Lets say that they put huge amounts of money into the engine and really maximized it in every way and were able to get a brake mean effective pressure of 200 psi.
200 psi = 150.8 x TRQ / 117 ci in
TRQ = 155 ft lbs
so the maximum torque output possible would be around 155 ft lbs
now lets say that they tuned the power band so it makes peak torque at 8000 rpm, for maximum power
155 ft lbs x 8000 rpm / 5252 = 236 hp
so there yah go, the maximum output of a 1.93 L engine in the sub-9k rpm range is going to be 155 ft lbs/ 236 hp

but yah, for a 2.1L engine it would be 170 ft lbs and 259 hp at 8000 rpm

Pretty cool but I noticed the driver taking noticeably more time to complete shifts than I do in the OGK. He was also using the clutch. A bit odd since its certainly a dog box. Using a Motec, they should have been able to set up a shift lever position sensor as a trigger for ignition cut. That would have allowed flat clutchless shifting. In the OGK, we use the clutch but they're nearly flat shifts.
Anyway, the last few days I've been dreaming of that damn HKS..

1.8 litre built engine IRTBs 9k redline = 214bhp (180rwhp)
I happen to know the owner of this car very well as we were the first people to run the K3 ECU system and we help each other out. 100bhp/litre isn't hard if you aren't a complete tool.
The engine was machined by a F1/Powerboat engineer for considerable cost but the power is WAY better than any FI car I've been in.
The engine management was done by the designer/developer/builder of the ECU system and consultant to many race teams Dave Walker.
Not the most shabby effort but it was meant to be a development project but the economy has screwed that for us all so only the chosen few can get similar parts.
