You guys are all fail with picking a spot. Nuclear Submarine is where it is at.

World Was Z is one of the best books I have read about what happens after the zombie apocalypse.

Dude, that's a book. Things never work out that well. Besides, do you really want to be submerged in the ocean in a tin can when all of the undiscovered, dinosaur-like, GINORMOUS sea creatures turn to zombies and swallow your vessel? I'll take my chances on solid ground, thank you. It's not like we're talking about Tremors here.

Read the book before you dismiss it. I guarantee it goes more into the zombie apocalypse then you have ever thought. If you seriously think a walmart or lowes will hold up against several thousand zombies you are sadly mistaken.

How many rounds of ammo does your base have? If it does not have several million rounds you will still be screwed.

Military bases are talked about in the book and more or less what happens is they run out of ammo and then get overrun by zombies.

Nuclear Subs are setup to go out and be self sufficient for extremely long periods of time so they make the best bet for safety.

You make a very good argument. I have nothing to do with the armory, but if I had to guess we'd keep in stock.... less than several million, ha ha.

Area 51 is where I'm going... No one knows it's there. Oh ****.... So much for that idea.

Also my box would have **** in it. I would be carrying my ammo in magazines and in my firearms.

[FANTASY TIMEOUT]

Some people take this **** way to seriously, and not just on the interwebz; I have friends that are planning for this ****...

...as if it were actually possible for such a thing to happen...

...just sayin'

A zombie apocalypse will happen concurrently with a hostile machine takeover, an alien invasion, synthesized smart dinosaurs, and a solar implosion.

A solar implosion is arguably the most likely, and we don't expect that to happen until many billions of years from now. Dinosaur synthesization is probably the second most likely, but they won't be "smart", followed closely by an alien invasion. The others just ain't gonna happen.

No, really, it's not going to happen.

For real, dinosaur cloning is the worst idea in the world. As for your list, mankind as a species will destroy itself long before anything else has a chance to. We are much too violent toward each other to survive for very much longer.
