Default Bought another Miata, this time with VVT + 6 speed

Hello everyone,

3 years ago, I sold my miata and have missed it ever since. It was turbo (with a custom WRX TD04 setup) and had custom pearl white/ gloss black paint. It was an awesome car that I owned for 5 years. Ive since been driving an 04 STi (sold) and currently a 09 IS-F. Since selling the STi, i've missed having a manual transmission and have wanted to get another toy that I can turn into a dedicated track car.

Ive been on the hunt for the past 3 months and finally a good one popped up fairly locally (200 miles away in Norfolk, VA). I made the journey out to see it and ended up buying it on the spot.

2001 Green/Tan
6 speed / 3.90 torsen
Hard Dog roll bar
Tein coilovers
15x8 TR Motorsports C1
NRG Steering wheel / hub

and a few other mods

It needs a little bit of work. Currently has a CEL related to the VVT (P1512), little bit of surface rust on rockers, no wheel lock key, and an obnoxiously loud catback. But overall clean for its age.

Plans for this season are to keep the engine stock except for MS3X. Im going to focus on getting the suspension/tires setup correctly and this winter I will turbo it with an MK Turbo setup.

The wheel is probably 15x8. When measuring width don't go lip to lip, I believe width is determined by measuring from bead to bead.

The C1M is the spec miata version of the C1 and is slightly heavier (13lb and change) and 15x7 to meet spec miata rules. The C1 is available in 7, 7.5 and 8in widths as far as I know.

Awesome. I hate black wheels but they look good on the green/tan for some reason.

The car looks good. We will see about getting a turbo setup for it in the future.

Lower right corner of a post. Likecat (gray) is good. Hatecat (black, devil eyes) is bad. Vote like or hate cat on a post. It replaced the props system.

I got to shoot my friends is-f a few weeks ago! Sexy *** cars....

If you're interested I've got a ms2 unit for an 01-05 Miata that I'll sell you! I bought it on a whim back before I bought my Miata but I ended up going with an NA so this doesn't really work for me. It has a jumper harness and serial to usb cable but doesn't have a vvt controller if you want to run that you'd have to pick one up. $400 shipped.

Thanks but im holding out for MS3X.

Got wheels removed to roll fenders.
Wheels are 15x8.
Now I need to figure out how much rubber i can fit. Id like to go bigger than 225/45/15. Leaning towards a set of BFGoodrich G-Force Rival S'

We do need to get a meet set up. As lame as I think those are, could be cool to get a bunch of nice equipment in one place.

Hey, did you by chance buy that car off of CL? A guy up in Maryland?

Edit: I'm a new Miata owner as well.. and I live in NOVA!
