New guy from SWFL
Hello I am new to the forum from SWFL. I am not new to Miatas however. I worked for Mike over at ISC Racing in Winter Haven for a couple of years. I have a 94 thats the street car, I plan on turbo'ing it. The original plan was to piece together a kit from a BEGi manifold and a subaru turbo but I have decided to just buy a kit. So I am going to sell my BEGi manifold. Anyways I hope to meet some other turbo miata guys around Fort Myers. Cheers.

There's a pretty big group of Miata folks in the Port Charlotte area. I think there's a separate forum somewhere (maybe this one?), but they also post a fair amount on Miata.net.

So you got to experience the campus in all of its original 1940s-vintage crappiness.
Well, not all of it. I think they built the new gym and cafeteria before you got there. The old gym, in particular, was a marvel of dilapidated architecture. The roof leaked, there was no heat, the locker rooms were slightly below-ground and not well drained, and the basketball court, in addition to not being flat, was carpeted.
Yes, carpeted. The very tightly-woven short pile stuff commonly seen in office environments. That was the school's idea of "refurbishment" after the original court surface become totally unservicable in the 80s. They just laid blue carpet right over the wood. Did a very nice job of it, with all the lines and markings perfectly inlaid with gold carpet.
Rival teams *detested* playing the Tarpons at home. You can imagine what happens when you body-slam a carpeted court while running at any sort of speed.
Aaaah, memories.

Welcome to the site. The gearheads site scenturion linked is a good local group. There's also a Miata Owners of SWFL facebook group that's pretty active, mostly younger guys.
You have any pics of the car or time frame you're expecting to get the turbo on? What part of Fort Myers are you in? I'm in the Cypress Lake area.
