Default Getting my 2nd Miata ready for boost (new to MT from PA)

First I'm going to introduce myself and give you a little background, then I'll share my boost plans, read up, I'm a good story teller

Hi all, my names Ryan, I'm from Scranton, Pennsylvania. I've had two miatas, I sold my 96 with race lands and xxrs for a decent profit a while back to pay a few bills, ended up buying a KA24 s13, and blew it up in 2 hours and I tore the engine down to get read for a rebuild, was gonna use the ka as a spare and SR swap it, but money got tight and i lost interest, so I traded the s13 to my buddy, who's name is Buddy, he owns a machine shop and happened to have 93 na6 that their shop rebuilt 4k miles ago. He really wanted the 240 and was stoked it was ready for him to put back together and get it running because he obviously gets parts quick, and discounted extensively, and obviously, free machine work. So we clean traded, both cars clean titles, and I'm in love with my new Miata, made me realize 240s are awesome, but my heart lies with the roadster. Now ill list my car and it's highlights, keep in mind I'm into the car around $2500 (great ******* deal IMO)

178,xxx fairly easy miles on the car, Buddy got it off a older guy I think
shop redid the engine at 174k, the car runs phenomenally
f1 racing stage 3 6 puck with a light weight chromoly flywheel
Freshly rebuilt Torsen LSD rear
Kyb Gr2 adjustable shocks with lowering springs
Aftermarket front turn signals
Front strut brace
Single loop roll bar with 4 mounting surfaces (two rear diagonals) - not sure of brand, looks like it may be custom
NB wheels sprayed gold with brand new Toyos
14 in. Stock sport wheels (not daisys) with good rubber
Interior in great shape, Im more than pleased with it.
5 month old top with glass window and defrosters

typical miata rockers, other than that there is no rust , car is really clean and one dent on rear quarter that will be taken care of

Now my boost plans:

I'm getting a new job in the near future that will fund my build over the next year or so, and I've been doing a lot of homework and have decided on the following to run a solid, reliable setup.

ARP head studs and cometic head gasket
Megan racing manifold and down pipe
Enthuza exhaust
T25 sr20det turbocharger internal wastegate
Megasquirt ecu (buddy has one and a manifold he's saving for me, he was going to boost this car)
CX racing FMIC setup
Mishimoto aluminum rad, which I already have(but thinking of just buying all brand new)
Rx7 injectors
Greddy BOV and boost controller
AEM wideband (as well as some other gauges and doohickeys, planning on making something to house the electronics under the radio, and relocating the stereo to the glovebox)
Turbo timer

Plan to get a solid tune, which I still have to do more research on, but luckily one of my local friends has 4 miatas, which two are boosted on MS, so he should have no problems helping me out on the tune (but debating on a professional dynotune, your thoughts?

Plan on boosting anywhere between 8-12 pounds, my hopes are with the healthy motor and good tune, I can run 10 pounds and be reliable, but realistically I'm leaning towards 8 pounds and I'll daily that, hoping for anywhere between 150-170hp.

I'll post some pics of the car now, thanks for reading all that if you did, cheers!

Welcome. Why the shift **** addition? Ditch the useless strut tower bar, it'll make things easier to work on.
Good selection of turbo charger. Glad to see you have a friend who is familiar with MS.

Also, no need for head studs and cosmetic gasket...and especially a turbo timer. Save that money and put it towards your wideband, which is the most important part of your build.

Thanks for the helpful info, strut bar because this is the way I got the car and I haven't changed out anything yet, but honestly that's going to stay, I like it, I'll remove if need be to work on it, huge bubble **** just for laughs, I have a Blox Racing LE 490 weighted **** I am going to mate to a garage star shifter extension for serious/aggressive driving. And thanks for the info on the turbo timer and what not, seen them on a lot of boosted cars, but to be honest not that many miatas, so I was curious about that, the feedback is appreciated!

Welcome from PA. I'd second what Thirdgen told you. A word of advice would be to not post any more pictures of rediculous shift *****. It will just distract us.

Anyway, it looks like you have a great platform to start and a pretty good plan. Are you getting the Megan manifold from your friend for free? I'd look into other options personally. A used cast log manifold would be very durable and just fine for your goals. They pop up on the classifieds here. Is that bumper sticker currently on the dash or not? It's on in some pictures but off in others.

Post up some good pics of the rollbar and we can probably ID it.

Another PA member! Welcome!
Car looks good, and you seem to have some pretty good plans. Im with thirdgen on the gasket though... no need for it. Im running 18psi, and im on an oem gasket with no issues whatsoever. And the turbo timer isnt really necessary, you wont bake your oil, or whatever peoples reasons are for using them... especially if you use the Magic juice Known as Rotella T6. If a diesel doesnt bake that ****, no way a miata will. It will actually CLEAN your engine.
Oh, and lastly.... you must change your name... Cant have another miataturbo member, miata owner, from PA, named Ryan.... lmao

I kind of figured about the shift **** lol ... But I don't like to hide things and it's just for laughs, so course I had to show it, it's only a once in a while **** for casual cruising, I knew no one would be in love with it (it's too silly for serious forumers, and I can respect and appreciate that) and the supreme sticker is currently on the car, yes, it's the only sticker I have on the car, I just like it for some reason lol... And thanks, I'll throw up some pics of the roll bar tomorrow I get out of work today when it's dark and we're getting snow tonight but I'll get some ASAP, other than that all feedback is good feedback, I appreciate the posts!

Welcome to the best Miata site on the net. Word of advice, don't buy XXR's, slam your car, or talk about drifting on here. If you do you're going to have a hard time fitting in.

Hence the sale of the first, shameful Miata that I rushed into without knowing a damn thing. But a year later, a lot of countless hours in the garage and on forums, and I'd say I'm getting there. Hey, some of us have to learn lessons the hard way. Going toward an autox, track day build with this car, thanks for your response and look forward to seeing you all around the forum!

Yeah we need to have a PA meet. Thirdgen said once that he had a good spot. This spring would be great.

I am down, there's some pretty good back road highway driving down by me that you can drive for hours and there's good sights, pass through little towns, peaceful, definitely a good Sunday trip for a few hours with the top down and full tank of gas
