My 2000 SE
Hello Everyone,
I joined the forum a little over a year ago when I bought my first Miata. Introductions are long overdue. I’ve been doing a lot of reading and learning but never posted until now. The amount of info and experience here is overwhelming. I've learned a great deal and feel like I've just gotten started.
I bought my 2000 SE for a daily driver. Shortly after getting her, I decided to take her to a DE. I’ve always heard how Miatas make great track cars. So, I slapped on a set of used Hoosiers and upgraded the brake pads. I was so impressed and amazed at how well it did, I decided to transform it into more of a track car (my only track car now). It’s still comfortable enough to drive to work but a whole lot more fun.
Knowing what I know now, I would have done things a little differently and in a different order (Megasquirt before Turbo upgrade for one) but live and learn.
Here’s a list of my mods so far. Most of the performance related items are from Flyin Miata
Voodoo II Turbo kit
Crossflow radiator and fan kit
3” Turbo exhaust system
Happy Meal clutch kit with lightened flywheel
V-Maxx Xxtreme coilovers
Sway bars
Stage 1 Big brake kit
949racing 6UL wheels
Corbeau Forza seats
Hard Dog roll bar
Hard Dog harness bar
Sabelt 4-point harnesses
Coolant re-route
DS Style front spoiler
Ducktail rear spoiler
HID headlights
Halo style fog lights (old ones were cracked)
As of last month, I replaced stock ECU and Voodoo II box with an Enhanced MS2 from Reverant. I also upgraded stock injectors with DeatschWerks 700cc injectors.
I couldn't be happier with Reverant's MS2. It's loaded with features.
The Voodoo II did its job fairly well and very easy to set up but there's just no comparison. The learning curve for the MS2 is steep but well worth it. I have a lot more to learn but my tune has really come a long way. Car idles and runs great. Everything works as it should...A/C, fans, alternator, etc. I went to my first DE since upgrading to the MS2 last weekend and I was really happy with how it performed.
Anyway...here are a few pics of my 2000 SE.
