Why put a 99' head on it? VVT is a desirable thing!

Not if you are anti-tune.... lmao

But if you are pro-performance, and dont mind some work on the 'puter, VVT is the shizzle. lol

If he plans on running a turbo he should be using some form of EMS. If that is the case, no reason NOT to keep VVT. Just my opinion.

^ this is true. If you gotta tune, just take the few extra steps, Keep the VVT, Tune it, And win...

I guess my bigges thing with the VVT was just that my harness and ECU arent set up for it. but your definitely right if i put some extra time into it then it would be worth it to keep.

Are you running a standalone, or are you currently using the stock ECU? If you don't have a standalone yet, move it to the top of your list of things to buy, and keep your VVT head.

Im from the Wilkes barre/Scranton area. its about 40 min from paupack.

And i do not have a standalone yet. but that is definitely on my list for this build.
question tho... if i run the standalone would i have to change anything else out to run the vvt head?

This should have the info you need concerning wiring.
Take a look here: How to wire VVT engine on an NA - Miata Turbo Forum - Turbo Kitten is watching you test compression.
