Default MS1 standalone installed, some issues

Just installed my MS1 with the PWM mod and the fans mod on my 94. It was a parallel but I modified it a bit and redid the harness. The car starts, but I'm having a couple issues. The tach isn't working, and I'm not sure about the fan operation. I couldn't get them to come on with A/C and they seemed to come on at weird times. I believe I wired them to JS0 (is that a no no? I couldn't find the way to set them up in Megatune).

Also I didn't know what I needed to do for the PWM idle mod in Megatune. I'm just using the DIY map for 94-95 and haven't really touched it otherwise. Here's a log of the start up and idle, with hitting the gas a bit for the heck of it. It looks like I'm getting some weird MAP readings as well. I don't have the o2 sensor hooked up yet since I was waiting to just install that with the turbo exhaust and stuff since the bung is in there, so it's not even using the stock o2 at the moment so that's why that reading is 0.

Can anybody help get me on track as to what to start with and fix? I haven't even set the timing yet following Brain's instructions, I just want to make sure everything is working properly first.

It appears I need to do this since RPM is showing up fine in Megatune:

"On 90-95 installs, a 1K 1/4 watt resistor should be installed in the diaganostics box across B+ and IG- Without this resistor the dash tach will not be functional because the stock ECU provides this pull-up; since we remove the stock ECU, we must replace the pull-up."

Can anybody comment on the JS0 fan output or the weird MAP readings? The car is completely stock but has the intake routing a bit goofy temporarily. See post 9 of this thread.

Is all the idle stuff taken care of in the base map? I'm just trying to get it working enough to check the box before I start adding injectors and the turbo setup (have all parts) and not really looking to get a good tune for driving yet since I won't be able to drive it until spring.

Sure the problem isnt that you have nothing on JS0?

judging by the file your log produced, i assume you're running Mega tune and not Tuner Studio? Did you calibrate your MAP sensor properly?

Not sure what you mean about JS0 Brain. I'm new to the software and only did part of the soldering for the fan output circuit to there, not really sure how to set it up in Megatune yet (what I've been using, will purchase TS eventually). And I haven't calibrated anything yet, so maybe that's why it's jacked up looking.

Well if that's how your MS is setup (from your build thread). theres nothing populated on JS0.

TS is freeware. and much better than MT.

I don't think I've taken an updated picture with the fan circuit. I just remember a transistor goes to a 1k resistor then outputs to JS0. I assume I just have to find it in the software to get them working correctly. Also I read something in another thread about a tach output circuit and needing to build that, does that apply to me or do I just need to drop in that resistor to the DIAG box?

ok that's fine. i just saw the pic and was like...there's no circuit on js0.

no, just add the resistor.

for fan control:
go to basic settings > codebase and outputs.
make sure X2 is set for fan control > burn.
go to more settings > shift light / fan / outputs 3 4
make sure your fan ON and OFF temps are what you want.

Makes sense, thanks a ton for holding my hand through everything so far. I need to invent a way to send a beer over the internet.

I'll give it a try later and hopefully have everything functioning. I'll have to give TS a try as well once I get everything stabilized and figured out. (all the tuning stuff you put up for miatas seems to be with MT so I started with that)

Bringing this back up...I searched around for how to do this and didn't seem to find anything besides just the elevation chart (About ~800' or so in Cincinnati) from the megamanual. How do I go about this or can somebody link me to the process?

Are you in Megatune or Tunerstudio?

In Megatune you must open the configurator and select the proper MAP sensor: http://msextra.com/doc/ms1extra/MS_E...l.htm#3_400KPa

In Tunerstudio, you set it up within your project properties.

The reason I asked this was because on your log you posted, the MAP was reading 142kPa with the car off; that's 6psi of pressure...

Megatune at the moment but I'll switch to TS eventually. Probably should just go ahead and do that.

Yes obviously something is off. I was using the PNP map they provide for a stock car but the MS1 is a DIY build. I would assume it's the same sensor though.
