Ok, I'm stuck.

Now I have more problems! I connot open easytherm to change the 'code version' it just opens up to view more files.
Now that I have extracted the hr_10g file to megatune I get this when I try to open it.
'Controller code version does not match signature MSnS-extra.ini
(See audit.log for where the above file was found)
Expected "MSnS-extra format 029q********" (found in ini file)
Recieved "0x53" (from controller)
Table corruption may occur, this is usually a very serious problem.
Teminate Megatune now?
'Yes' 'No'

Fixed the megatune opening problem by plugging in the ECU.
Can some one tell me how to open Eastherm? I have it in My Documents. I'm trying to continue with Brains DIY MS how to Software>Step2. It says:
Step 2:
1.Create your Firmware file (only necessary if you're running parallel).
2.Open EasyTherm
3.Change the 'Code Version' (towards the bottom on the RHS of the screen) to "Custom"
4.Change the port to your port (COM 1 or what-ever it is) on the bottom of the screen
5.Change the 'Coolant and Air Temp' settings to your desired settings;
But when I try to open it it just shows me all the little files and programs.

LOL. If I had money to give you I probably would!
Well if it wasn't for this forum I would have sent back this MS many moons ago with a very nice note to go with it.
Guess what! That's right... moooorrreee problems!
I have the megasquirt ecu hardwired into the stock wiring harness and now the easytherm says this when I try to upload to MS:
'Communications error- check com port number.'
Well I changed all four com ports and it didn't do anything.
Also since I do not have a stim, I do not need to use a jumper wire right?
Should the LEDs on the MS ecu come on when the ignition switch is on? They are not turning on.
I'm currently following these intructions below.
Once you have changed the settings, click on the "Write .inc and .s19 Files" button on the bottom of the EasyTherm screen
The file that you want to write to is the 'msns-extra.s19' file in the C:\EFI\ folder in the hr_10g file that you unzipped to earlier.
Let’s flash that file
IF YOU ARENT USING A STIM, UNPLUG YOUR COILS/IGNITORS!
Put a jumper on the boot pin on the MS motherboard and power up the Stim/ Ignition to ON.
Click "upload to MS" Choose the 'msns-extra_mod.s19' file in C:\EFI\ (Don't touch a thing on your computer after this or it will freeze)
It will write about 1775 lines, if it doesn’t do it again from step 2.
Unpower the MS and remove the boot jumper.
Copy the three .inc files from C:\Program Files\Easytherm into your Project Folder’s “MTCFG” folder, click yes to overwrite if prompted.
Open the Megatune Software
go to file > Configurator
under MegaTune2.25, highlight msns-extra.ini.hr10, then go to file activate.
Then File > Save.

Ok, well I was able to get my com port changed once again in a different place. So now when I try to upload to MS from easytherm I get this:
'Connection Failed!
Check serial cable, port number, and jumper on boot resister.
Remember, MS must be powered up with boot resister shorted prior to downloading, reboot MS and try again'
So wtf is going on here? I know my comport is right, I know my cable is good. I don't think I need to jump anything because I'm not using a stim. The two LEDs closest to the DB9 connector light briefly when I turn the ignition to 'on'.

do this.
with the ms on and pluged in to ur PC.
start >> (right click) my computer>> properties >> hardware >> device manager.
look under com/port/LTI (or something like that)
what port is the MS on?
after you know what port its on make sure Megatune is set to that port.
make sure you have that same port selected in Easytherm.
(in my case easytherm only had 1-4 as available comports and my port was 7. i had to change the name to com 1. i can explain how to do this if it comes down to it.)

Actually I already did that. Megatune, easytherm (aka pitatherm), and my serial cable are all set to com3.
So it looks like I would need to jump a wire from some boot to somewhere else??? That's the only thing I can think of that I haven't done but I don't know where to jump from or to. I wouldn't think that I wouldn't need to do that since I only have a v3 main board and that's all, no msII, no stim, just a v3 main board.

open the MS case.
look for the proto area (its a lot of holes in like a 10 x 15 arrangement) on the top of that u should see hte boot holes, short the 2 out.

I just went through everything and found that my MS didn't like the wire I was using as a jumper for the boot loader. So I have the easytherm and hyperterminal working. and uploaded to MS ecu.
So now that that's done I'm trying to edit the custom.ini in MEGAtune mtCfg. It will not not me edit anything! so now what?

Can someone give me or tell me where I can download a base tune. I've seen some MSQ's I don't now what that stands for, I assume they are base tunes. But they are completely different from what I need. I also do not know how to apply them anyways.
:(
I need this car running right! It's my only car and I need it for work. Now I'm wishing I had just bought a rising rate FPR instead of a stupid MS. What's worse is no shop in town will touch it because they're all afraid to work on it because it has a MS in it. :(
