This is the story: Thursday afternoon the postie delivers my MS. Very excited! Even better is I started the first of 6 night shifts that night and building MS would be the perfect night shift project. So I build it as per Braineack's guide and the Megasquirt assembly instructions. All goes well untill this morning. It's 4am and 2 hours till I can go home. I have the laptop hooked up and the Stim and I am playing around getting familiar with the software. For some reason I decide to redo the Easy Therm settings( it is 4am remember). So I change the setting's, depower MS, install boot jumper, power up MS and download changes. Perfect. Now, depower MS and remove boot jumper but can't get to the little jumper with my fingers so I use my side cutters, as I grab the jumper I see the the 3 LED's flicker....WHAT! Like a donut I forgot to depower MS didn't I!!! So I think what I did was short the boot pins to the 5volt pin which is very close. See picture below.
So when I calm done and put the knife away before I slash my wrists. I check for damage. The software is running fine just like before. The 3 LED's next to the DB9 connector are another story.
The INJ LED work's as before. The warmup LED stay's on all the time even though on Megatune it is off. It only turns off when I reduce the rpm pot on the Stim to zero. The accell LED mimics the INJ LED exactly.
So. After the noob flaming, tell me, have I fried the CPU or a transistor or transistor's that switch the LED's?

Before you go slashing anything, open MegaTune and have a look at the "Codebase and Output" box under Basic Settings. The functions of those LEDs are user-definable, so see what parameter is driving the middle LED.

OK Joe, all that checks out, LED 17 Spark A
LED 18 Warm up
LED 19 Acceleration
If I change LED 18 to output 4 it flickers with the other two. and when I turn the rpm pot right down 18 goes off, 19 goes on solid for about a second then goes off and 17 comes on and stays on untill I turn up rpm and then all the flickering starts again.
Not looking good for the CPU!

Hey Ogwazza,
Can't PM yet.
Have been asleep all day and didn't bring it in to work tonight. I also remember reading about no boot jumper with Msnse. Will give it a go tomorrow. As for Easytherm I do seem to remember a prompt to power down and install boot jumper, but not sure as night shifts tend to get blurry towards the end
No wisdom yet, still working on it.
