The air filter is in the stock Greddy location and uses the Greddy elbow. I'm sure with a little ingenuity you could mount the filter elsewhere. I designed this kit to be PNP with a stock miata and Greddy kit. It this kit is succussful, I'll consider adding more opitions.

:gay: I just noticed your signature "stripes pipes". Not bad I'm up for any suggestions if anyone else wants to throw out a name for this kit.

I used Jim's pipes for years, they are for the budget person. I know you guys dont look at them too highly, but Jim is a busy man and for what they are they work. I do agree that Stripes makes a super nice IC pipe set that is 100% nicer though.

Back from the dead! Began work on the kit tonight and in the interest of not starting a new thread I thought this might be the most pertinent to my install questions.
So here's my kit and it looks great. My only issue is I wish I could have gotten bead rolling. Other than that the welds are great, as good as mine
So I took my haynes manual out and gave it a go. I got most of what I need off. I guess I'll finally break down and jack the car up so I can get the last undertray off. This leads me to my first question. Completely removed or trimmed to accomodate the pipes. Here is a picture of the shroud wrapping around the radiator and heat exchanger for the ac. So it definitely won't accomodate a 2.5" pipe. So those who've installed it cut or remove. I'm hesitant to remove due to loss of cooling efficiency.
Now take a look at this. I have two horns. I ******* hate with a passion the alarm system that is on the car and I've disengaged it. I see no OEM-like horn and thats really all i'm interested in keeping. I have a bullhorn type and a spiral style horn. Both are aftermarket and take up a ton of space in the area the core will occupy.
So which is the one to keep?
I also noticed something not pictured in the hayned manual which was a black odd shaped part just under the hood latch with a wire running to the blue and orange connector near the top of the drives side shock tower.
What is it?
Thanks Goodnight

I say cut the shroud, keep all the cooling efficiency you can. While you're in there, maybe look for more ways to prevent air from escaping around the rad? I haven't installed an IC on a Miata *yet* but that's what I'm going to do.
The black box sounds like the airbag sensor. Tap it with a hammer to find out for sure.

you really didn't have to pull the bumper....but you have to trim the undertray to fit the pipes. You just gotta do it. As long as you do a good job triming, then you won't suffer any loss around the pipes.

not my car, that's a FM kit.
But no. I installed this kit on Newbsauces' car and we did not use the lower brackets....for one the top bracket does a hell of a job, but allows for some movement, and two the charge pipes do a good job a securing it in place and it's snug enough...
my personal intercooler is the same and I only have (1) S bracket holding it in place, worked fine for about two years now....
