Default ACL Race Bearings

Did a search. Saw they went on back order, off back order and back on back order.

I'm looking for a set of Standard and a set of HX ACL Race Main bearings.

If anyone comes across a set of these....let me know.

Doing the "winter" refresh on the car and am coming up short on bearings.

All the best
Eric

The common answer is King bearings. If you only want ACL's ignore my suggestion. I've heard savington say he has some but he is hording them for engine builds. Not sure what sexual favors would be required to get some.

Each set of ACLs I have costs $2600 and includes pistons, rods, a new block, a fresh oil pump, ARP hardware, etc.

Is that the price shipped or is shipping extra?

We've also had good results with King. Clevite is good stuff, but no surprise, we've only used them on domestic builds. No experience with them in BPs specifically. Don't see why they still wouldn't be decent though.

I've been looking as well, could not find them through any of our suppliers. I ordered a set on eBay over the weekend, then was told they were actually out of stock, got refunded. Found one more set and ordered them and they are supposedly on the way. Here's the seller I bought them from if you want to ask if they have more: ozokuracing on eBay

I am currently waiting on rod bearings from Clevite. Ran me $180 shipped for main, rod, and thrust bearings through my parts guy. No word on when they will be in though.

We have used King race bearings in a high rev atmo engine build. They seemed fine and survived well over 100hrs of big rpm pounding before being replaced at rebuild.

They are a very different design from the ACL race bearings. They are made with journals and appear to have a layer of softer material in the surface when compared to the ACLs.

If I can't find ACL, I wouldn't hesitate to use them again. From memory they were a little more expensive than ACL tho.

Last week I rang around all of Aus looking for ACL bearings. I ended up with a full set however they are pretty much out of stock now in all sizes. I spoke to ACL direct and they should be starting manufacture again shortly.

Btw Kings Bearings were entirely out of stock as well (at least in Aus). It's hard to find any race bearing atm.

I spoke to ACL Yesterday and was told that the Standard and HX series would be back in stock next month. I placed a order directly with ACL so I wont have to wait on the retailers to get them back in stock.

I couldn't get the kings race in the sizes I need. So no 0.5mm bearings in Aus and non eta on import. I didn't check other sizes as I have ACL HXs already. Plus the kings were almost double the price of ACL race.

I had issues with King bearings. Too soft. Had Discussions with King after sending them my hammered slightly cooked bearings said I needed tri-metal which they didn’t have yet back then. There newer XP series might work but the HP didn't work for me at around 400hp.

I have had no issues whatsoever with ACL race. Tough bearings they are.
