Default MP62 oil issues

Hi all,

I got a used MP62 S/C and before I started to install it I decided that it will be better if I will check the oil level just for safety, I think I was lucky I did so.

So I drained the oil into a 250ML bottle (Pic 1) I didn't measured it but it seems to be less then should, couldn't find anywhere the right amount of oil but could make an average of 100-200ML from what I found.

Also I think the oil is very dark (Pic 2 in-front of the light), (Pic 3 against the floor)

So my questions are,
1. am I right? there isn't enough oil? can someone advise on the right amount?
2. Is it too dark? should I replace it?
3. what can cause an oil to leak? there aren't any leak marks. what should I pay more attention to, in order to avoid this situation in the future?
4. what can cause this oil to be as dark as it is? is it indicates on something that needs a replacement?

If I recall, my MP62 took 4oz and Jon Bond Performance sold it in 8oz bottles (GM sold it in 4oz bottles) which gave me 2 seasons. Because of the way the filler plug is oriented it's easy to overfill. The number I've seen used is 3-5 oz.

Color is all different based on who made the oil and the additives. The best way to know is to start off with a fresh fill of new fluid made for that unit.

This is what I used; JB Performance Supercharger Oil with Tribodyn, 8 ounces JB Performance Supercharger Oil with Tribodyn [JBP SCO-8] - $19.99 : Jon Bond Performance, The Worlds Premier Supercharger Rebuilder and Parts Store

Thanks for your reply.

Did you changed your oil because you needed to? the oil level was low? or just to fresh things up?

Should i use loctite and a torque wrench for the drain plug?
