Drifting has about as much in common with racing as figure-skating does with bobsledding. They take place on the same surface and use a fundamentally comparable technology to interface with the ground, but only two of these are judged objectively on directly-measurable criteria (eg, speed and time), while the other two are judged principally on the shininess of the pants worn by the performers and how much of a boner the judges receive.

Except its not a track, but a bunch of regular roads that the local retards go to to hone their "dor1fto" skillz. Their cars fail so hard they have to wait for rain to break the tires loose, and all are too broke to afford a track session.
At least 1 of them will eat the curb a night, and on the good nights you'll see someone total their car.
