My clutch switch is working as I can see it being toggled in the data window. When I try flat shifting, the tach needle just bounces off my 7100 rpm rev limit. My flat shift limit is lower than that. Do I have to shift before I hit the rev limiter?

I notice my tach needle reads lower than the adaptronic reads. My 6000rpm flat shift has the needle more around 6500ish if I shift lazy and hit the limiter
