Anyone got anything Close? Using EMS-4 Series 2
Just finished wiring up the EMS-4 Series 2 ECM and I have the following list of input / output. Was wondering if anyone had anything close or something they could give me to get me started as the AEM is all new to me. I used to use SAFC and AVCR for my setup. So heres the follwing current install:
Injector Dynamics 1000CC Injectors
LS3 Coil Packs
AEM Oil Pressure
AEM 3.5Bar Map Sensor
Stock Cam Angle Sensor
Stock Crank Trigger with 4 Teeth on AIT Super Damper
AEM Wideband wired to AFR on ECM
AEM Tru-Boost Gauge / Controller Standalone (or should i connect to Map?)
Stock Throttle Position
GM Knock Sensor (should I use this?)
Do I hook up the IAC to anything or just leave it?
Any other sensors I should get?
Ive got the GTX3071R finally installed and am looking to run E85 with roughly 400+HP I would like to just get it running in my garage first before i take it to my local Tuner. Unless anyone can tune over the internet here. Any help / info is appreciated.

im dead in the water...
Ive been at this for 6 days now. All i can get the car to do is dump fuel and rough idle, thats about it. Im kinda defeated at this point and have no other ideas. Ive got the LS3 coils wired up right all the coils are ok, the injectors are firing like they should and my fuel pressure is 43psi for the id1000 cal im using on the wizard. What I dont understnad with the EMS-4 is that the computer doesnt know where the engine is because of the sync teeth on the cam. Im using the 2 tooth sync pulse not the 4 tooth pulse on the cam. I still have the stock 4 teeth on the crank as well. Any Ideas?

Figured it out!! Now I have to tune, i hope this helps.
So the way the EMS-4 is looking to handle inputs is that is has 4 injector and 8 coil outputs. The injectors being relatively easy, the coils were tricky. My problem was that I was only telling the EMS to fire on coil 1 2 3 4 but not on 1b 2b 3b 4b. The "b" coils account for the second revolution of the engine cycle to complete the firing sequence. Because I was using the 4 tooth crank wheel, I was only telling it what to do for half the time it was trying to fire. The other half was off. If anyone has any info on the IAC or even tuning it to run above an idle, that would be great.

After several days of testing, we came to the conclusion that the Series 2 boxes are incapable of reading the factory 4-tooth setup, which is why we use custom 12+1 crank trigger wheels with our EMS-4 setups. If you've really got your car running, I'd like to take a look at your cal file to see what you did with the phasing - I was able to get one car started on the 4-tooth wheel, but it ran very rough and I was never able to get the timing marks to line up properly.
The IAC valve gets hooked up to one of the GPIOs. You then select the output pin for idle control in the idle settings page and tune from there. I don't recall whether the GPIOs with PWM outputs are 1-4 or 5-8 off the top of my head, though.

This is incorrect. There are 4 coil outputs. The "b" outputs are spoof outputs that enable the use of wasted spark setups since you cannot normally tell a coil output to fire on two unique crank teeth. If you were to fire the factory coils, for instance, you would fire coil 1 for cylinder 1, then coil 2 for cylinder 3, then coil 1B for cylinder 4, then coil 2B for cylinder 2.

What an expensive hobby.
Just to let everyone know, I finally got it tuned and had to add a few things to finish the job. Im getting 388HP at the wheels. Its hella fun to drive now. Thanks for all of your help. Sav, Im using the 4 tooth pulse from the cam sensor and the 2 tooth pulse from the cam sensor for sync. i do not use the crank wheel because the mag pickup is slow and was unable to do it with only 4 teeth, if you use the cam sensor which is hall effect you can double the rising edge and falling edge to create enough teeth to have a decent firing signal.
Will be back at the dyno in a few weeks when i have some spare change to break the 400hp range. stay tuned.

Im looking to get the trackspeed aem set up. how difficult is it to use other than those minor things you overlooked? Is there any tech support from aem or trackspeed? and does it matter that im an MSM? or can i change all the settings to where it will work with the MSM.
