Oh, Rafa you have an NA don't you? NA alternators are very low output, though automatics have greater output alts than manuals. The FD RX7 alternator should also bolt up and be an upgrade.
Or do what Joe advises, which is to get the original rebuilt and rewound. There are people who do that; I've had it done on old GM cars multiple times.

1100 rpm. I could never get the car to idle properly with the a/c on so I just don't use it.
