Lots of ideas on that car. Some good, some less so. Curious, does anyone know what kind of drivetrain that car is using?
I searched for a little bit, but didn't event find anything on "BBQ Roadster". Based on the short blurb of stating it turned a time just under 1min at Tsukuba, I'd assume it was a NA BP. That is about what the NA AE86's run.

Yes, yes I did. Now I'm hungary. I convered Roadster to Kanji and got more hits (see linked video), but not much information on it. It did turn a 59.6 at Tsukuba on 225's at one point though.
I don't think that it's a great aero package on that car. But it probably helps his lap times all the same.
Here is the start of my new aero package. I have laid up the carbon fibre, but forgot to take a pic. The green line is the part I am making. It's as wide as the car at 65" wide, and high as the roof. It bolts in to the chassis in the area that is hidden by the rear bumper. Next is to make the wing...
Of course you can go for low drag. Smooth everything, tiny intake for heat exchangers ducted out the hood, square off the back, wheel covers, etc.
But having downforce will still yield faster lap times. I only have about 120hp in the black car, yet i have heaps of aero for downforce. Last time out I was the 6th fastest car outright, and only half a second off the MX5 club outright record. And that was on 2 old R specs, and 2 S spec tyres. If your on the hwy, go low drag.
I'm curious, has anyone tried making vertical fences/endplates for a spoiler (NOT a wing). I have more Lexan lying around . Has anyone has tried this, or know how it would affect the performance of the spoiler?
**Edit: The low AOA in this photo is due to me compensating for a bad alignment that was causing crazy understeer, which has since been fixed. This idea is about taking advantage of the end plates allowed in my class, since I do not currently have the budget for a big wing. The car will also eventually have splitter of some kind.
E.G a plate on each side of a spoiler that just boxes in the sides and channels air through it. I was thinking of starting the fences a bit wide and tapering them in to the width of the spoiler to have it 'grab more air' even at a lower AOA. See my amazing MS paint diagram below.

I don't see a problem with that, though it would increase drag. But why wouldn't just you make a wider or longer spoiler?
