Nice! I need to get a downpipe too, but if he's able to do a full turbo back system with a cat, I may just end up going that route.

I'll take it. I can give you a discount towards a DP. Do you also have the elbow?

Here's a MSM DP I made:

It's as close to true 3" as a MSM DP will ever be. Just a 45 degree section of 2.5" before it transitions to 3". Dyno should be coming soon.

And the exhaust that went with it:

Tip is shown hanging a bit low in the last pic to clear the MSM lip

How much for that setup right there?

Dual 2.5" exhaust as requested by the customer. He was well aware of how loud it would be w/o mufflers.

Note: tips can be adjusted up/down. Once installed on a cut bumper, the driver side tip will fit perfectly into cutout, not hang down like on my uncut bumper.

DP is $385; exhaust is $475. Cat and resonator, if needed, are extra.

I have a Begi DP on the car currently, the stock elbow is still on the car, I have one of the ebay elbows waiting to be installed. So you could have the full thing once I get time to swap it out. I was just wanting a 2.5" catback at this point.

Maybe a noob question, but I thought it looks like that the begi or FM downpipe attaches directly to the turbo. But it sounds like they attach to the elbow. And then it looks like from the pics here, that Abe's downpipes attach directly to the turbo. Anyone got a quick explanation to unconfuse me?

Abe has made the DP into a split gas DP avoiding the use of the restrictive factory elbow. The biggest problem with the SGDP is that it can cause boost creep which can be fixed by some creative porting(more details of the porting can be found at mazda-speed.com) The FM downpipe reuses the factory elbow. Begi offers two different model downpipes, one that reuses the elbow (which I have) and a SGDP that eliminates the elbow as well.

Ok Ok. Thank you for that. I'm pretty aware of the boost creep issues the stock MSM IHI turbo has. Actually all I've really been looking at is SGDP which is why I forgot about the elbow because the flanges on them mount flat with the turbo.

I think what I want to do is wait till Abe gets a downpipe that is interchangable with the stock one, that way if ever there is a problem with SMOG/CARB, I can swap a stocker back in. But regardless, I think I'd rather give my money to him being as its about the same price to piece together a begi/fm/etc setup.

Yes, if you already plan on fixing the boost creep, I would go with Abe's SGDP in a heartbeat. With a metal core cat on the SGDP you shouldn't have any smog/carb problems unless you are actually in Cali.

Updated user info to display where I live. Cali. That's why I mentioned the CARB part. Think I'll still have much a problem? My dad's shop is next door to a really really busy smog only place and I can't really recall them ever looking for these kinds of things and I've had a few of my cars smoged there over the years.

EDIT: And that's why I'm inquiring about getting ABE's DP made to be interchangeable with the stock one in case I did have any problems. I don't think that'd be too hard for him to make something as beautiful as he does but within stock specs.

How much for a 3" turbo back, no cats, standard magnaflow muffler for an '05 Mazdaspeed Miata? Looking for a nice deep growl.

Ok Abe I'm ready to order one of these with the 5x11x22 Magnaflow for my NB with a standard BEGi downpipe. I want to use a resonator in place of a cat, are you able to use a Magnaflow 14419?
