The RX8 injectors are in, and it's up and running/driving. There is a massive dead spot like a fuel cut at around the 6000rpm mark in 4th. This video shows it runs perfect, A/F ratios are all good, then it just dies. I automatically lift of the throttle, and it drives normal.

I can't watch the video right now but it's not just a boost cut you have set or anything silly like that?

No, there is no boost cut. Plus it doesn't happen in the lower gears. It just feels normal, then it's like there is a complete fuel or spark cut.

it certainly sounds like boost cut.
it normally doesn't happen in lower gears, only higher. 4-6th
try a pull in 5th from like 3-redline, if it's boost cut it will definitely do it, and probably sooner than 6k

It does it in 5th as well. We are not that familiar with tuning the MS3. If the boost cut is set, how do we change it?

go into overboost protection under boost/vvt drop down and raise it. takes 2 seconds.

you're running a bit lean in boost too if I'm seeing that wideband correctly

be careful don't blow up the engine before you get to enjoy it

Overboost Protection was the problem... thanks 18psi
It certainly looked like it was occurring right around when we were hitting 180kpa. It's all much clearer now.

I only suggested it because I've made that same mistake!

No prob, glad you got it sorted. The MSM setup is weird that way: tiny turbo but spools relatively late and usually doesn't creep until after 5k.

You'll love it on e85, that's exactly what I'm running now

Any tips to run E85? What spark plugs do you run?

dw200 pump and at least 700cc preferably ev14 injectors and tuning is really all you should need
then just tune.
I'm still running stock plugs. 11.3psi put down 226whp on a dynojet and 211whp on a mustang dyno.
I absolutely love e85

I only have 440cc injectors, RX8 ones.
I have a fuel pump I can put in. I was hoping this would be enough, as I am planning on keeping boost to under 10psi.

nope. you might squeeze 200 out of them, running them to the point of going static
I'm at like 70% idc on ID725's, though I do run my car pretty fat in boost (11.3-11.5)

The tuner I was going to use can't do it this week. So found another. He won't do it on E85 with the set up it's got. He said the injectors will be too small as well.
So just doing Premium unleaded tune. Should be pretty easy since it drives well already.

I have repurposed the damaged spare hood. I figured the radiator will need all the help it can get. Marked some lines, made some cuts with the grinder, then bent up some alloy sides and riveted them in. And patched the hole from the naca duct.

Bonnet does sound like an old fashioned ladies hat..

Painted a bit of black on the vents, and trimmed the spoiler to fit in the radiator opening.
Should be a formidable weapon this weekend.
